Help! Change of name in ownership

hi guys! newbie here! i have a car that is needed to be transferred to my name, there was no selling so there's no deed of sale. I was advised instead of having a deed of sale, have an affidavit of change of name will suffice. is this true? and also the car was newly registered this month and no sticker was issued... should i have to wait for the sticker to come out before I do the change of name? Hahanapin daw ito before ma i process yung change ownership? please advice... thanks in advance!

  • Hi, bakit walang bentahan? Sa parents mo ba yan, at ipapangalan na sayo?

Yung friend ko, yung benz nila nakapangalan sa parents niya, need niya i-transfer sa pangalan niya kasi magpapa interview siya sa US embassy, so ang ginawa nila, nag pagawa ng deed of sale talaga/ deed of donation (I forgot, please consult a lawyer), then sa LTO, yun ang pinakita, para mabago ang name ng owner sa OR.

Ngayon, nasa kanya na ang benz.

I hope nagka idea ka. :)
  • galing sa ex bf... i bought the car but since i was not in manila when we bought it so it was named after him. we already broke up so i want the car named after me. ngayon sabi nya affidavit daw ang ipapagawa nya and i have to wait pa na ma release ang sticker coz it was recently registered this september. dunno if its true so i was wondering. thanks!
  • just make a deed of sale. kahit na walang palitan ng pera ngnangyari. it's the fastest and sure way lang naman kasi.

    :)

Then saka mo ipapalakad sa LTO ang transfer of ownership.
  • all you need is a notarized deed of sale and or and cr nya.

ang someone you know sa lto na matino na sanay maglakad. may mga check rin kasi sa crame pa etc etc etc.

kahit nga walang palitan ng pera na naganap, ilagay mo lang for the sum of xxxx.xxx
  • deed of sale talaga kelangan mo
  • To process the change of ownership of your car, you need the following:

    1) Original copy of LTO Official Receipt (OR)
    2) Original copy of LTO Certificate of Registration (CR)
    3) Notarized Deed of Sale (original)
    4) Clearance from PNP-TMG (Traffic Management Group) - sa Camp Crame, Quezon City
    5) Photocopy of at least 2 valid IDs of you (as the Buyer) and your ex (as the Seller) - have your ex sign on the photocopy of his ID
    6) Budget, Time and Patience in dealing with various agencies.

If you have all these items ready, the first step is to go to PNP-TMG for the Clearance (including macro-etching). After you get this, you will transact next with the LTO Office where your vehicle is registered. Naka-indicate naman on top of the LTO CR yung particular branch or office.

Important: Don't forget to xerox all the documents as you go along.
