Ano ang depenisyon mo ng maganda? Base ba ito sa kakayahan mong bumili o isang ideolihya lamang?

Magkano ang kaya mong iwaldas para sa isang "magandang" bag?

I can refer you to Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga or Hermes but it may not be on your budget and I may offend you if I direct you to go to Greenhills, Quiapo or Divisoria.

Have you been inside a mall? We have plenty of them around. They don't charge you if you go inside and touch the merchandise. ;)

There is no single answer to your question as you need to be more specific. What kind of style are you looking for and what is your budget? How long do you expect to use it for?

Sa Zara, reasonable naman yung price.
Just look for the one you prefer the most.

Mid Range and local : Our Tribe and Fino. I prefer those to the ones I see at Zara.
  • ^ Fino makes good stuff.
  • Fino is good and I find them reasonably priced. Pero their bags are heavy.

Zara bags are not made of leather afaik.

Fossil has leather bags too di ko lang alam if they sell bags sa Philippines.

Yung messenger bag na leather ang hanap ko. My budget is around 3k to 5k. For a long time of course. :)

Glorietta 3, SM Mall of Asia, Power Plant, Shangri-la, etc.
I believe Google can be your friend.

Around 7-10k for women's bags. I think mahihirapan ka maghanap ng good quality leather bag at 3k. Save up a bit of money and get something that's of good quality.

There's one in Trinoma. Not sure where else.

I think your budget might be a bit tight. I don't have experience with bags from Zara but whenever I buy something, I always buy from a company that specialises in making that item. For example, I only buy shoes from a shoe company or a watch from a watch company. The only time I bother with designers is when I'm interested in their clothes which is what their specialty is.

Having said this, I would recommend Fino and Our Tribe who are both Philippine manufacturers of quality leather goods. I have bought from these two companies and I know that they use real leather and that their stitching / gluing process is good. I don't own one but I have handled a Glenmore bag before and they're not bad too plus you can have them customised. All of their prices would be higher than what you have budgeted for.

For your budget, what you'll probably get is a product made of man-made leather which is a superior form of vinyl created to look and feel like real leather. It won't be as strong as real leather.

On a side note, when buying leather (cow skin) products, full grain leather is the best as it is thicker and of the best quality. Corrected grain leather is poorer and thinner leather of lesser quality which was sanded to make it appear like it is full grain leather. Leathermakers would know this but they usually do not label their products if these are made of full grain or corrected grain leather.

Good luck man! I hope you find a bag.

How about zip folios for carrying A4-sized documents? Can anyone suggest a place where I can grab one? GetFiled has some nice ones but are a little too big and screams high school.

Surprisingly, SM has some affordable ones from local brands like McJim. Pricier and of course better ones are available at Fino but that's also dependent on their current line as their product line-up changes with the seasons. If you want a luxury folio, you can get one from Braun Buffel or Dunhill which is where I got mine. Samsonite used to have some but the local distributor in the Philippines doesn't carry the full line.

Just checked McJim and all they have are the briefcase style with the concealed carrying handle. Zara PH has some on their website but the actual retail store doesn't have it. Victorinox has a mesh-style one but is a bit overpriced at almost 4k.

Any other "budget" leather folio suggestions? :)

This got me thinking but I remember seeing one over at Salvatore Mann. It was priced around P1,200. This was over at SM Makati in the luggage section.

Surprisingly, even moleskin has leather goods now though I can't really say how robust they are.

    Good luck man!

For local try Manel's, Rusty Lopez, SM (McJim, BHPC, Msense).
Marikina shoe makers also sell bags although mostly are for women. You can check out their store @ Riverbanks mall in Marikina.
