Kung mapapansin mo, this forum is full of gay people who have a very very strong prejudice against fat and ugly people. I am strongly against that attitude for various reasons:
1. I was really fat before and I understand the emotional struggles. It's different for everyone, pero for me, bukod sa insecurity ko sa hitsura ko noon, I also felt anger towards my parents for the kind of upbringing they subjected me to. They're the type kasi na academics ang measurement of success, so never nila ako pinalaking involved sa sports and physical activities. I think that obesity is not a direct result of a person's gluttony but of an ignorance which the person may not be willingly subjecting himself/herself to. And even if they wanted to work out, they don't know where or how to begin.
2. Fat and/or ugly people still have the right to pleasure. I don't care whether you want to change the fact that you're fat or ugly, but the basic fact is that you're human and you need to have sex. Wala tayong dapat pinagtatalunan doon. Making fun of someone for being fat or ugly is just as stupid as making fun of that person for being Bisaya.
3. The point of fighting for LGBT rights is that you want the Church and the bigots to recognize the diversity of humans and that as diverse creatures, our sexualities are different and cannot be declared as better than the other. Tapos manlalait kayo ng matataba at pangit? Humans come in different shapes and sizes, and that's a fact. There's nothing funny about that, we're all humans. Kung tutuusin, just as "beautiful" is subjective, so is a person's being "ugly." Hindi na ako nagtataka na hindi pantay ang pagtingin ng mga Pilipino sa mga bakla dahil yung mga mismong bakla na nandito sa Pilipinas, puro bobo.
also felt anger towards my parents for the kind of upbringing they subjected me to. They're the type kasi na academics ang measurement of success, so never nila ako pinalaking involved sa sports and physical activities.
