Soc Rivera Rule was overshadowed by the Jerry Pingoy Rule.

Dati 1 year residency lang (Soc Rivera), sa Jerry Pingoy 2 years na.

So ni revise and Soc Rivera Rule to the Jerry Pingoy Rule; from 1 year to 2 years. At this time kahit may consent man or wala ng previous school, kailangan talaga mag sit out for 2 years residency.

Wala na ang Soc Rivera Rule.

May bagong ammendment ang Pingoy Rule. If binigyan ng clearance ng previous school, 1 year residency lang.

    Nico101,
If I understand you correctly,in regards to the Mbala Rule,he can only start playing in the UAAP after 2 years. In short,in the year,2015?
    Thanks.

What if a player graduates from a UAAP school and pursues another undergrad course in a different UAAP school? Will he be allowed to play?

I'm half expecting a Montinola Rule. What Anton wants, Anton gets. :D

2 years residency, that is the rule (based on the info that I know).

The question is, what year did Mbala started studying at DLSU.

Talaga bang this SY year lang siya nag start, or baka sabihin ng DLSU a year ago pa enrolled si Mbala.

Pag nag protest 2 years residency.

Thank you kay @kg22

Ray Parks Rule: Fil-Foreigner who are fresh graduates from foreign High Schools must sit out 1 year residency. If not a fresh graduate from High School (meaning has gone to college at a foreign school), sit out 2 years of residency.

    +

If Fil-Foreigner had to finish High School abroad because his parents are OFW's, they do not need to do residency in college. They can play on their their first year.

I'm curious about the Gaco rule. I've always thought that Gaco was just a mercenary hired to beef up DSLU. Where did he play before DLSU?

Gaco graduated college at PUP, then went on to pursue an MA at DLSU.

    Andaming bawal. :rotflmao:

Compare that with the US NCAA's eligiblity rules... masyadong strikto tayo. :hmm:
  • dashingdevonairdashingdevonair Member PExer

Halatang the league's employing artificial ways of balancing the league. It actually doesn't make sense considering that the rules aren't discouraging the bringing in imports and transferees from other schools. .
  • im_on_hdim_on_hd IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!!!!! ✭✭✭
For me, dapat mas strict lang when it comes to transferring students after their freshman year in college.

And ayun, sana lang mai-regulate yung mga "incentives" to scholarship, boarding, and allowance.
