A coworker of mine use to play Flight Simulator (Microsoft made) A LOT. He had the throttle and everything with a laptop.

It's pretty challenging esp. the landing part. I tried and crashed every single time.

I think there's one with helicopters. I managed to learn how to pitch to go forward but trying to hover/land was disastrous. LOL.

    Too realistic though,

It Takes You Around the Same Flight Hours In Real Time
  • How realistic do you prefer the game to be? Here are two more that lean more towards realism:

    X-Plane (commercial)

    FlightGear (open source)

I tried FlightGear once and discovered that piloting an F-22 isn't as easy as what Ace Combat has led me to believe. :glee:

    @ F-A Soldier

any idea where to get the latest version? it seems that microsoft already stop developing this game.

    @subsonicsky

i want it to be as realistic as possible. yung tipong parang flight simulator ng real commercial planes.
  • In that case, X-Plane is for you. Real pilots actually use that software for training and practice.

but this is going to be too costly.
it has hardware like pedals, set up for 3 monitor and airplane like "steering wheel".

can it be played with 1 monitor and a joy stick?

Nice! And they even have the SR-71 on the Aircraft pack.

And, yes, Ace Combat, regardless of what platform, is just an arcade game. Although the 360 version provides me another controller than can used for PC.

I think the retail consumer edition/license is meant to be played like that.

While X-Plane is the preferred simulation platform of commercial airline pilots, Ace Combat on the other hand is the preferred simulator for aspiring pilots of variable fighters. Ore no uta wo kike! :glee:
