BDO Depositor's Thread

I cannot see any BDO depositor's thread. Kaya I made one.

I'm thinking about opening a savings account at this bank, and close maybe one or two of my BPI bank accounts (I have four). Mag-o-open ako ng savings, and if all goes well, baka pati checking account dito na rin ako sa BDO. The maintaining balances of their ATM (and even passbook) savings and their checking accounts are attractive, but that's not the main reason why I want an account with this bank.

I'm happy with BPI's customer overall (but I've got a few complaints with them), kaya lang recently nalaman ko BDO had waived charges sa remittance ko from a freelance site I work with regularly (odesk) at pinakamabilis na ngayon ang BDO when it comes to receiving remittances from that freelance site.

So it's actually that income reason. Mahirap rin magbuhat ng pera from one bank to another especially if I have to do this regularly. LOL.

But I am not sure with the billers. Di ko alam if BIR eFPS works well with this bank, and have BENECO listed as one of their billers. Can anyone confirm success in paying these billers? Or at least tell me kung nakalista ang mga ito sa BDO online accounts nila?

I still see long lines inside the bank. But I guess they won't be much of a worry. But there are some occasions when I have to deposit funds over the counter na usually galing sa ibang bangko.

I have both BPI and BDO accounts. What I don't like about BDO is that they will charge for deposits to accounts outside the "area" (ex. sending money from a province to Metro Manila via BDO will incur charges). I also like the ATM of BPI where I can do direct deposit outside banking hours. To be honest, BPI seems more service-oriented than BDO.

But BDO talaga is so much more convenient on weekends inside the malls. Haba lang ng pila minsan. I also like their Mastercard/Visa debit card which doesn't have a fee (although as I understand, you can't use it online.)

If opening a BDO account will reduce the hassle of bringing money to a different bank, you should open a BDO account. I think that would be enough reason to open one :)

Yup I agree. But at least they've started na. Siguro dahil sa competition.

Metrobank is doing this "area thing" for quite a while. Yung BDO noon di pa ginagawa ito.

BPI, as we know, is a bank anywhere bank. No charges anywhere in the country.

I also like the ATM of BPI where I can do direct deposit outside banking hours.

It's already more convenient to use their cash deposit machines.

To be honest, BPI seems more service-oriented than BDO.

Very true. I used to have accounts in BDO years ago). Still I have to open a BDO account because I need to.

    Kakaaliw!

tanong ko lang, yung sinasabi na "area" you mean by province lang diba? So if yung brach ko is Makati, pero nagdeposit ako sa BDO - Taft area, wala naman extra charges? hehe

Is there someone here who works at any BDO branch at Quezon City? I have a question kasi. Nag check deposit po ako sa savings account ko noong saturday, August 17, 2013 and the teller told me ipra-process pa yung money for 3 business working days so it would be floating. I asked her when ko mawiwithdraw yung pera sabi niya raw sa Thursday, which is the third day of working days. I asked her again just to make sure if sure siya kasi holiday yung monday and wednesday but she insisted.
She's cute and smiling so I just said okay. Hehehe.

So, kahapon pumunta ako sa BDO ulit sa SM Fairview where I deposited it and the teller said monday was holiday and so as wednesday so yung next time ko na wiwithdraw yung money would be tuesday pa next week dahil holiday ulit sa monday.

Any answers would be much appreciated :)

suspended po ang check clearing last monday and tuesday. since holiday ang wednesday, kaya thursday pa ang 1st day po nun kaya by tuesday pa malamang macredit sa account mo yun.

Just want to add that the first teller was correct at the time you deposited your check. Although Aug 19 was a hoilday in QC, had it not been for the clearing suspension, Aug 19 would have been Day 1 as it was not a national holiday.

Parang new feature to sa online banking.
  • It's 150 pesos. Highway robbery IMO. Unionbank charges 10 and Citi charges 0. Tapos pagdating pa sa other bank me charge din na 100 to 200.

I have a question lang. I have a savings account sa bdo. Atm sha.

Now my question is macclose account ba yung acct ko pag winipe out ko lahat ng laman non? If hindi naman may penalty na ba agad pag winipe out ko sha? Or how long na zero balance yung account before sha ma close account or ma penalize? Hope someone could answer thank you.

*kuya danny pa move na lang ng question ko if may existing ng thread for bdo savings account. Hindi ko kasi makita eh. Thank u.

    .

This might be too late, but to answer your question, no. You're account won't be closed yet.

No it won't close pero you will be charged Php 300 for falling below minimum balance.

Pinili ko ang BDO ko as my first "independent" bank. By independent, I mean hindi banko na ginawa ng parents ko for me. So far ipon ng ipon, iwas lakad ahah.

    Hi,

I've opened a BDO Peso Passbook Savings Account w/ ATM yesterday. My question is pwede na ba akong mag deposit sa account ko kahit wala pa yung ATM? pero may passbook na ako or kailangan ko pang hintayin yung ATM which is 5 banking days pa bago ma release. Thanks
  • mxherr5mxherr5 Member PExer
    Yes
