John Lloyd Cruz, Sarah Geronimo, and director Cathy Garcia are all open to have a follow-up movie of the John Lloyd-Sarah loveteam.

“If we could come up with better script than this one, I don’t mind.

Dagdag niya, “It’s all in the story naman.

“Kung mayroon pa kaming ikukuwento at gusto n’yo pa, pag-iisipan namin.

“Parang ito pong part three, hirap na hirap kaming makaisip ng magugustuhan ng mga tao.

“Nakakatuwang isiping nanalo kami, I mean, natuwa ang audience.

“Kung magkakaroon man ng part four, gano’n ulit, magsusunog-kilay para makaisip ng magandang kwento.”

BOX-OFFICE HIT. Ayon sa Star Cinema, nasa P267 million na ang kinikita ng It Takes A Man And A Woman as of yesterday, April 9.

(CLICK HERE to read related article.)

Mahirap sabihin.

“When Sisterakas was shown, film festival.

“Ngayon, matindi ang competition. Ang daming summer big movies na paparating habang nagpe-play kami.

“I don’t know kung ano ang mangyayari.

“But siyempre, nandoon yung umaasa tayo na magtuluy-tuloy.”

John Lloyd Cruz says he’s willing to do a sequel to ‘It Takes A Man And A Woman’

    4/10/2013 9:31 AM

    by: Rachelle Siazon

John Lloyd Cruz expressed his gratitude to all the avid supporters of his team-up with Sarah Geronimo as their movie It Takes A Man and A Woman has already grossed P226 million as of April 8. At this point, many are wondering if it can beat Sisterakas’ box office record amounting to P350 million. “It’s been overwhelming magmula ng first day kasi maataas daw [sa box office]. Pero ‘di pa rin nawawala yung [kaba], na-intrigue pa rin ako sa moviegoers, inaantay ko kung ano mangyari in the coming days. Marami pang ‘di nakakapanood. Let’s not be complacent. Sana huwag palampasin ng mga tao.”

The three-time box office king was really proud of the movie, adding that some people are already asking him for a fourth installment to the story of the well-loved characters of Miggy and Laida. “As I said this might be the last for Miggy and Laida. Sa mga nakapanood nakita niyo naman kung gaano kaganda yung pinuntahan at kung paano siya natapos. We’re not sure, kung tatanungin niyo kami, hindi ko alam kung meron kaming mapapangako na susunod pa.”

On his end, John Lloyd said that he’s willing to do a sequel as long as the material would be worth it. “If we can come up with a better script than this last one, siguro we’re willing to give it a shot, baka pwede pa. Pero kung script pa lang medyo siguro naman mararamdaman mo naman kung masyado ng pilit, huwag na. I’d rather end it this way. Personal ko yun. Pero at the end of the day, tayo ay answerable lang sa mga bosses natin. And kung ano sabihin sa atin, kung sabihin na ituloy natin, isa pa, kaya pa, susunod tayo.”

ang hirap nito pero sana next year na lang, I just want this series to end :bop: okay na iyong trilogy :)

sana new story, if they create a new story better, but making a follow up to the third part is good too.
  • erzo01erzo01 Member PExer
If there'll be a Part 4, sana tipong 2-3 years from now.

  • janerdellejanerdelle vInTaGe kObE... ✭✭✭
most fans are clamoring to have a part 4 its because they can't get enough of miggy and laida love story..

2014 or 2015 is the perfect date for the Miggy-Laida part 4..1 year para makapag-isip ng magandang script si Ms. Carmi, then 1 year in the making for the movie itself..

but before doing the part 4, mas maganda na gumawa ng movie ulit sina loydie and sarah na mas more mature and also romantic drama genre..this will test kung ready na ba si Sarah for mature roles and heavy drama..
  • CrystalClashCrystalClash malia rodriguez rise !!!! PExer
Kung ako lang wag na sana magkapart 4. Ayos na ang Laida-Miggy story as a trilogy eh. Pwede naman siguro gumawa ng entirely new story for them. :D
  • kyupaybkyupayb Objective Threadstarter ✭✭✭
  • LB33LB33 Member PExer
Mahirap sundan ang part 3 kung aabot ito ng 400 million pero kung pwede pa ng part 4 tama ang suggestion na after 3 or 4 years na lang at magandang script at mahabang shooting time and plenty of time on post production/editing time..in short hindi madalian.. at sana wala na ring Premiere night dahil nakatulong talaga pag walang premiere night lahat obligado magbayad para mapanood..aminin pag premiere daming freebies na tickets:D

COUPLE OF THE WEEK: The John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo Effect

    2013

It has been five years since John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo first got together onscreen in A Very Special Love.

The movie was such a successful hit that Star Cinema and Viva Films just needed to make a sequel.

You Changed My Life was released a year after, in 2009, and it surpassed the gross sales of the first film, also garnering more following for the tandem.

While the response was overwhelming, many— including John Lloyd himself— thought that doing a third movie could risk dousing the public’s warmth for the loveteam.

But it seems that all worries were proven wrong by the recent box office results of It Takes A Man And A Woman.

As of April 9, the movie has earned at least Php 267million, along with the continuous support and affection of moviegoers.

On Twitter alone, many users are expressing their fondness for the Miggy Montenegro-Laida Magtalas series.

No doubt, record breaking! #gofor400M”

@ynnalog10h: “#ItTakesAManAndAWoman The best! tawa, kilig, iyak.. LAHAT! Lloydy & sarah never fail to make me kilig! :D #LateTweet”

@Mylles201211h: “#ItTakesAManAndAWoman unparalleled, incomparable, exceptional & phenomenal. Going to watch it again! 3 Cinemas at Glorietta literally FULL!”

@oDe2LiFe11h: “watched #ittakesamanandawoman for the second time with cousins. bongga pa ** ang dami ng tao. standing roo **** siya, nakakatuwa. :)

So, what is it really about this tandem that people can’t get enough of? What is it with Sarah and John Lloyd, and Laida and Miggy that has gotten viewers hooked to the story?

JOHN LLOYD IS MIGGY. Director Cathy Garcia-Molina says one of the reasons behind the trilogy’s success is because John Lloyd and Sarah were not simply portraying characters, but actually imparted themselves in this movie.

“Lloydie is Miggy, e,” Direk Cathy is quoted saying in an interview after the movie’s grand presscon last March 17, where John Lloyd became very emotional.

CLICK HERE to read related story

“Si Miggy has everything, Lloydie has everything. And so it seems, ha?

“But at the end of the day, what matters most is being a good man.

“He might be the best actor, he might be the most sikat ngayon, but at the end of the day, ang minamahal naman natin kung sino yung mabuting tao, e,” she says about the similar struggles that John Lloyd and Miggy go through.

John Lloyd realizes this, too, and even mentioned it in his recent appearance on PEPTalk.

Like Miggy— who, throughout the three movies, ought to prove that he is more than his stern playboy exterior— John Lloyd also struggles to live a normal, peaceful life amidst all the nasty rumors thrown at him.

And in this PEPtalk interview, John Lloyd showed his sentimental side, admitting how nervous he was the day before the movie was shown, and even refusing to hear about the first day box office success of his movie.

“Ayoko, ayoko. Don’t bring it up kasi ayoko siyang, you know, baka ma-jinx siya. Alam mo ‘yon?” he says.

Inadvertently, it is this aplomb to show his “normal guy” side that draws people to like him.

Physically, John Lloyd quite epitomizes the regular Pinoy guy— someone with average looks, but owns a disarming smile and personality; someone you can’t exactly call a hunk, but a man’s man nonetheless.

Creators of internet memes have even associated his name and image to describe what is a “tunay na lalake.”

“Ang tunay na lalake, walang abs,” says one that points out John Lloyd’s lack of six-pack abs and a toned physique, but still gets the admiration of girls.

“Ang tunay na lalake, umiiyak,” says another that has an image of the actor in tears, taken from a scene in One More Chance where he, as Popoy, agonizes over losing his girlfriend Basha (played by Bea Alonzo).

    more on this story

Indeed, John Lloyd has that power to manipulate his audience’s emotions— an ability that sits well with Sarah’s natural portrayal of Laida Magtalas.

SARAH IS LAIDA. Like John Lloyd, Sarah playing Laida is also a relatable persona— the average Cinderella who falls in love with a prince and uses her innate charm to win his heart.

Despite her wealth, the accolades, and her status as showbiz's “Popstar Princess,” Sarah remains to be the image of a simple girl dreaming to find her one true love.

Before A Very Special Love, the singer-actress never played a lead role— and a “mature” one at that— in any of her previous films.

Many thought it was a risk for the producers to put the then 19-year-old opposite a tried-and-tested movie star, but her effortless depiction of a bubbly hopeless romantic proved naysayers wrong.

Eventually, Sarah ended up becoming the Box Office Queen, securing a spot in showbiz history and in the hearts of the Filipino audience.

Throughout the five years lived by the trilogy, Sarah, the person, has gone through heartbreaks and disappointments of her own.

And every single time, she has emerged a stronger person— “braver, bolder, fiercer,” as the line in the movie goes— but never ungrateful or vengeful.

It is this optimistic nature possessed both by Sarah and Laida that earned the admiration of fans— the hopefulness and the promise that love will come to every person in its own place and time.

THE WHAT IFS. Incidentally, it is this same optimism that has made the Sarah-John Lloyd or AshLloyd loveteam survive.

Despite talks of discontinuing the franchise sometime in 2010, after Sarah supposedly snubbed John Lloyd in their joint appearance in ASAP, the clamor of fans prevailed and now It Takes A Man And A Woman has come to life.

The fans’ continuous hoping for the “what ifs” is what's driving the producers now to contemplate on whether they should make a fourth installment to the series or another project for John Lloyd and Sarah.

“Sana may part four,” begged fans who have seen all three movies.

“Sana maging sila rin sa totoong buhay,” is what die-hard AshLloyd fans continue to hope for.

In her interview, Direk Cathy noted, though in bullets, the reasons why John Lloyd and Sarah never got together in real life.

She says, Sarah has decided to be a "good daughter," while John Lloyd chose to honor Sarah’s decision.

But even she agrees to the idea of seeing the two become a real life couple.

“They look good together. I think, yung kilig nila kaya nila i-transcend in real life.”

But just as movies usually end on an open note, the public would probably just have to wait and see if the “what ifs” can become “is its” in the future.

Sarah Geronimo insists kissing scene with John Lloyd Cruz in latest movie was real

ANOTHER MOVIE WITH JOHN LLOYD.

Pero tulad ng sagot ng kanyang movie partner, sabi ni Sarah, “If could come up with a better material than sa ginawa namin sa It Takes A Man And A Woman, bakit hindi?”

Sarah on 4th team-up with John Lloyd: Why not?

By Karen Valeza | Yahoo! Southeast Asia Newsroom

Sarah Geronimo is inspired to do a fourth Miggy-Laida movie, now that her latest team-up with John Lloyd Cruz, “It Takes a Man and Woman” has become a big box-office hit.

“Gusto ko pong ulitin lang yung sinabi ni John Lloyd na kung makaka-come up kami with a better script doon sa ginawa namin sa “It Takes a Man and a Woman,” why not ‘di ba?,” Sarah said at the press conference of the singing reality contest “The Voice of the Philippines” at the ABS-CBN compound on Friday, April 12.

Reporters were told at the press conference that the movie has reached the P300-M mark, making it one of Star Cinema’s most successful films.

“Kasi maganda na namin siyang natapos. Ang ganda na ng love story ni Miggy and Laida, kinasal sila. They have their happy ending together. Naniniwala ako na magagawa pa namin kung may mas maganda pang material doon,” Sarah said.

Sarah would also like to do another movie with John Lloyd apart from their rom-com movie franchise.

“Ayaw ko ma-stuck kami sa franchise na iyon, para (rin) magkaroon kami ng growth. Ma-experience pa rin naming yung ibang genres.”

Sarah and John Lloyd’s supposed kissing scene in the movie – a first for the Popstar Princess -- was also much talked about. While some think their lips didn’t really touch, Sarah said it’s all a matter of opinion.

The movie only shows how comfortable Sarah and John Lloyd are with each other.

Sarah was referring to John Lloyd when she said, “Sobrang pwede ko siyang i-kiss ng walang malice.”

She is happy to know that John Lloyd’s girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban, is a big fan of their love team. Angelica even tweeted that she enjoyed watching their recent movie.

“Nasabi niya sa akin na natapon pa daw popcorn niya sa kilig habang pinapanood niya yung “A Very Special Love.” That’s a good thing. I’m a fan of Miggy and Laida, as well,” Sarah said.

She agreed with Angelica who said that she (Angelica) has no reason to feel jealous of the Sarah-John Lloyd team-up.

“Totoo naman. I have so much respect for Ate Angelica Panganiban. For a time naging close kami. Hindi nga lang talaga yung physically nagkakasama kami. Nagkaka-exchange kami ng text messages noon. Vina-value ko iyon up to this day.”

Team Sarah in 'The Voice of the Philippines'

Sarah is looking forward to being one of the mentor-judges in the “The Voice of the Philippines,” together with Lea Salonga, Apl.de.ap and Bamboo. As a product of a singing competition, Sarah has a lot to share with the contestants.

“Ako po ay dumaan sa ganitong proseso at I'm sure marami akong mare-relate sa kanila. I'm excited kung ano ang maibibigay ko sa kanila o 'yung maibibigay namin sa isa't isa, 'yung pagtutulungan namin para makamit ang “The Voice of the Philippines” title,” Sarah said.

Sequel to Sarah and John Lloyd's movie in the works

    By: NEL ALEJANDRINO

WOW, do you know how much the phenomenal John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo starrer, It Takes A Man and A Woman, has grossed as of this writing?

A whopping P375M. Yes, in less than four weeks.

No wonder Star Cinema and Viva Films organized a victory-cum-thank you party for the cast, crew and production staff at the 9501 Restaurant of the ELJ Building last Monday.

It was an ultra-happy occasion dahil si Malou Santos, Star Cinema managing director, ay namudmod ng white envelope. Everyone involved went home happy, especially, John Lloyd and Sarah, co-stars, Rowell Santiago, Johnny Revilla, Al Tantay, Miles Ocampo, Joross Gamboa, Bing Pimentel and Gio Alvarez, among others.

Gracing the happy occasion were Charo Santos-Concio, Cory Vidanes, Olive Lamasan, Marivic Ong, Carmi Raymundo and Enrico Santos.

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina also came with her boyfriend, who was a high school classmate.

A widow, Direk Cathy looks sexier at ang ganda niya these days.

    * * *

Walang dudang maliban sa team-up nina John Lloyd at Sarah, isa sa mga dahilan why moviegoers watched It Takes… ay ang istorya ng pelikula.

No wonder this early, Star Cinema is conceptualizing a sequel to the successful comedy-romance film series.

Sa finale ng It Takes... ikinasal sina Miggy at Laida. Natural lang na life as a bagong kasal ang maging sunod na kabanata ng pelikula. Dito malalaman kung ready na for matured roles si Sarah, who is turning 25 on her birthday in July.

Sa It Takes…, may lips to lips ang dalawa, bagama’t slight lang.

Sa speech ni Sarah during the party, pabiro niyang sinabi kay John Lloyd na gusto niyang pasalamatan ang parents nito dahil pumayag sa eksenang halikan sa pelikula.

If you want to know kung nasa gathering ang extra protective mommy ni Sarah na si Mommy Divine, nandu’n po siya.

Sarah will be busy with the upcoming reality show, The Voice of the Philippines, ng ABS-CBN, where she is one of the coaches along with Apl de Ap, Bamboo and Lea Salonga.

Toni Gonzaga, younger sister Alex (Gonzaga) and Robbie Domingo host the show.

John Lloyd, on the other hand, will do a movie opposite Anne Curtis.

Parang I heard that part 4 is on the works already during the victory party.
