It's okay. Fairly attractive. Miles better than the dumpy outgoing model, but still not what I'd call a looker. Not quite a fan of the bluff face and gaping maw but I like the general shape and details.
You gotta wonder how much better the interior is though. Current Vios/Yaris' interiors are very, very cheap-looking.0 -

I think it was a cost-saving measure to serve both LHD and RHD markets.
Yep, in a way yes. In fact if you drive the local Yaris HB, you might notice the orientation of the instrument cluster seems to be more biased towards the center/right side of the car.
The design sorta reminds me of a Hyundai though.0 -
parang may pagkakahawig sila... ;p0 -
Finally, toyota is on the right track as far as exterior design is concerned, although tail light seems outlandish.0

To be fair, they did that with Lexus too. The IS has an all-new body but a carryover engine lineup.
Whether a Lexus IS is anyone's definition of a "cheap car" is up for debate though.0 -

Why? Whats wrong with the old engine? Does the price now make you think a new engine should be included?0 -
Is it me or does it look like new version is longer body wise? I like the DIMENSIONS of the old model, hope this one stays the same.
This is what happens when car companies have lots of competition, even giant toyota is forced to renew their philosophy. The Vios has a strong following and has established itself as a solid model.
If priced correctly I would opt for this than its korean counterpart, japanese metallurgy is what most buyers do not appreciate. Kilala ko ang toyota, before you can be a supplier of toyota parts for their assembled cars in japan, you have to go through an eye of a needle to pass their requirement.0 -

In the new Vios' case I think Toyota just upped the visual cohesion. Almost every visual element you see on the outside runs horizontally so there is consistency to the whole style and the whole car looks "longer". By contrast, the outgoing Vios had an especially jarring front end; it couldn't decide between going horizontal or vertical and it looked "squatter" or more "squarish" as a result.0 -
I think youre right, at any rate this is a huge improvement on the looks department. Para kasing parrot tingin ko sa old vios.0
