I believe lahat ng bangko ganyan ka-strict.

Nope not indicated. Pero dyan rin nagche-check ang ibang banks. That same list. So you see some people here sa forum who are worried sa past credit nila, kasi ito mismo ang listahan na ginagamit ng banks to check credit-worthiness ng mga apply ng credit, loans at checking accounts.

Kaya mahirap talaga pag blacklisted na dyan. Masyado nang mahirap na to loan, get credit at ANY Philippine bank.

I believe same level of strictness applies at other banks.

Actually, we already have a nationwide Credit Information System since 1990. It was the personal mission of former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Rafael B. Buenaventura to establish a nationwide credit bureau.

The BAP Credit Bureau Inc. (BAP-CB) established in March 1990, is a product of the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP), the trade organization of the commercial banking system. It is a computerized credit information exchange institution that allows members credit-dealing reports on individual and corporate borrowers to combat fraud and bad loans.

Also, under BAP-CB is the NFIS (Negative File Information System) that is used by the banks and other entities to check credit records not CMAP.

The records classified as follows: - cancelled credit cards due to mishandling, current accounts closed by the banks due to improper handling, loans classified as foreclosed, litigation and written off accounts and court cases related to sums of money (data sourced from the Credit Management Association of the Philippines (CMAP)).

So, in short data gathered by CMAP is consolidated by NFIS which is then used by banks and other entities to check credit records.

Hindi siya kasama sa scope ng CMAP. But I think banks has other source to know it.

Same question with the Unionbank: bakit VISA rin lang sila?

Because the ability to issue MasterCard requires additional fixed costs which the bank might think are not economically justifiable. There are still some prominent local banks which do not issue both VISA and MasterCard. For the longest time, BPI was MasterCard only (OK, they also had their Classic card). They introduced their VISA only last year.

Security Bank doesn't have VISA either.

    Maybe, or maybe not.

All decisions begins with the top management. Wala siguro silang agreement with Mastercard that is why they aren't offering it. If you look carefully, mukhang ibang-iba lang focus ng bank nila - more on countryside development. Maybe this explains why Landbank is not really that popular with their credit cards because this bank has different goals in mind. Their clients are those from the countryside, those who heavily rely on cash for their day to day operation of their businesses.

I don't see Landbank as a small bank. It's always is within the Top 10 largest Philippine banks - right after pa ng BDO, BPI, Metrobank (usually occupies the 4th slot).

With that said, I think they can develop their IT infrastracture if they want to (kung kulang pa) as they are bigger than EastWest, Citibank, RCBC, Security Bank, Allied Bank, Standard Chartered, etc... those other credit card issuers.

Pero sila kailangan talaga may certificate of employment with breakdown pa ng salary. grabe

    That too.

Pero kung iisipin mo other banks are run privately - so they must be after customers' money so they find ways of making it easier for potential clients.

I don't think Landbank has that mindset.
