Tarlac - Pangasinan - La Union Expressway (TPLEX)

The Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway is an 89-kilometer four-lane expressway currently under construction north of Manila, in the Philippines. It involves the construction in two phases of an 88.58-kilometer, four-lane expressway from Tarlac City, Tarlac to Rosario, La Union.

This will supposedly cut down travel time to Baguio by approximately 2 hours and will be connected to the northern end of SCTEX. It will have a soft opening (May 2013 was the original target) a month before the formal opening.

If I'm not mistaken, parts of this are already in use since 2009.

^ It's open from SCTEX/La Paz up to Paniqui; i took this last December and it really saved a good 40 minutes from one's regular travel time as you skip Tarlac City already.

The target of completion is 2018, although SMC and its partners are fast-tracking the project to hopefully have it completed by 2015or a year before Mr. Aquino would finish his six-year term in 2016.
