  • MVP - LBJ. The race ain't even close. Best all-around player (even for the past 4-5 years), playing for the (currently) best team in the league. Stats + Efficiency on both ends + Team success = MVP. Elusive ring na lang ang kulang. And with all due respect to Durant the only way he would win MVP is because of the "sawa factor" of the voting panel just like when they gifted the award to Rose last year (even if we all know that LBJ is better than anyone in the NBA last year and this year).

    First Team All-NBA:
    LeBron
    Durant
    Howard
    Rose
    Wade

    ^^

yeah i think lbj is the most dominant statistically too, but over the years the nba is more about "story" or else shaq would have easily won mvp in 2001, cp3 in 2008 and dwight last year. the thunder are the number 1 team in the west where not much separate between teams and durant is their best player. lbj and the heat are dominating but imo, that doesn't make too good of a "story". besides the heat would still be a very good team without lebron and that has been proven too. you take away kd from okc and they go from number 1 to struggling to make #8.

of course, this is just my opinion.
  • 30-6-5 stats of Kobe is only good for 2nd team?

sorry but i factored in team records as well, if the lakers were higher, kobe would be 1st team without question. don't worry i try my best to be objective regardless of what i feel about a player. :)

    MVP - LBJ
the most dominant player this season.

    ROY - Kyle Irving
Ricky Rubio could be a contender too but Irving is simply very consistent.

    DPoY - Dwight Howard
Serge Ibaka could give him some challenge.

    SM - James Harden
Moe Williams could still make some noise but Harden is much better as of this moment.

    MIP - Ryan Anderson
Jeremy Lin is fast catching up. Kyle Lowry will be a longshot to win if we compare his stat last year to this season.

    COY - Greg Popovich
despite with a veteran (read: old)-laded line-up, Pops defies the odds and surprisingly sits at the top of their division. and that despite of injuries to Manu, and limited playing time of Duncan.

    Mythical 5
    G - Chris Paul
    G - Derrick Rose
    F - Kevin Durant
    F - Lebron James
    C - Dwight Howard

    second 5
    G- Dwayne Wade
G - Kobe Bryant (based on the team standings as well)
    F - Blake Griffin
    F - Dirk Nowitzki
C - Andrew Bynum (much better all-around than LaMarcus)

    third 5
    G - Russell Westbrook
    G- Tony Parker
    F - Kevin Love
    F - Andre Iguodala
    C - LaMarcus Aldridge

    All-Rookie 5
    G - Kyle Irving
    G - Ricky Rubio
    F - Marshon Brooks
    F - Derick Williams
    C - Tristan Thompson

    Defensive 5

    G - Chris Paul (2.3 spg)
    F - Josh Smith (2.1 bpg, 1.5 spg)

@ceedee, just out of curiosity, Why put Griffin ahead of Love when Love has the superior stats and is the best player on his team?

just like what the threadstarter had stated my first and second fives are based on their team standings. I could be wrong but that's only my opinion. :)

i agree with ceedee except that i'll put derrick rose on the second team and place westbrook on the first. i'll also reserve a spot for luol deng in the third team.

I have to put Derrick Rose in the first team because he is leading the Bulls at the top of their division and third best in the league. I agree Loul Deng deserves to be in the third team but I have to put the Sixer's best player because their team is leading the Atlantic Division.
  • deronwilliams08deronwilliams08 PEx Influencer ⭐⭐⭐
to those wondering why i put rose instead of kobe on the 1st team

my checklist for 1st team are:

    - stats
    - best player on your team
    - top 4 in your conference

when i made this thread standings were

    east:

    miami
    chicago
    philadelphia
    orlando

    west:

    oklahoma city
    san antonio
    la clippers
    dallas

    my first team:

    lebron

    - stats: check
    - best player on his team: check
    - team is top 4 in conference: check

    durant

    - stats: check
    - best player on his team: check
    - team is top 4 in conference: check

    dwight

    lebron

    - stats: check
    - best player on his team: check
    - team is top 4 in conference: check

    rose

    - stats: check
    - best player on his team: check
    - team is top 4 in conference: check

    paul

    - stats: check
    - best player on his team: check
    - team is top 4 in conference: check

    kobe

    - stats: check
    - best player on his team: check
    - team is top 4 in conference: nope.

hence kobe is only on my 2nd team. if the lakers were at least a top 4. kobe would have been in my first team at the expense of rose.
