Career Path: In what field/industry are you working now?
I want this thread to enlighten some alumni and even students in what field they really want to pursue. Tulungan by sharing some info
I'll start. I'm a CE grad and working in the field of Structural Engineering. I'm based in SG (steel fabrication comp) and previously worked in UAE.

Ayos yan. Pa-quote next time.hehe
off-topic: Ilang days holiday diyan sa CHinese New Year? Dito 2 days e.
I finished BS Civil Eng - MS Construction Eng, 2007.
I'm currently working for a global leader in the Wind Energy industry, as SAP Consultant for Project Management. The linkage I have with the engineering industry is on the academe, taking up PhD studies in UP.
What triggered the drift was the low income an engineer would get in the construction area. :(
I understand everybody goes through here, but in times like this, you gotta be smart; you gotta move your way through in order to balance professional and financial stability.
Ch.E here working for process automation company
Will be launching our Software Development team soon and will work on GUIs
Ipon Muna
I stand corrected
Hi sir, I have a question, do you have any idea what the figures are in terms of salary for a construction engineer in an oil/gas sector in the Middle East?
Because I received an offer last year from a company in Makati which is affiliated with JGC, and the offer was only $370 with an allowance of $600, although it was only for a Level I Engineer, pero parang masyadong maliit considering na ako bahala sa lodging and all those stuff, long story short, I declined their offer. I just want to have an idea para in the future if given another chance, yung decisions ko will be based on facts instead of gut-feel, because alot of my batchmates are saying that I made a wrong decision and its bugging the hell out of me. btw, may parang training pa sa office nila for 6 months before getting deployed.
Thanks.
They classify their company as EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction).
More on operations din yata. Btw, Batch 2002 ka din diba?
Like what spanishsardine said, mababa yung offer tapos babawasan mo pa ng lodging, food, etc.
It is still up to you
Supposedly, that would be my first job.. Just graduated last year..
Kung saan, im not sure kasi iba-iba daw yung projects nila eh pero most eh sa middle east/north africa..
Oh well, gusto ko sana sa design eh kaso puro construction co. ang tumatanggap sakin :( Ang hirap maghanap ng trabaho pag first job pa lang..
under pa din sa chevron?Sabi nga din ng friend ko may mga ganung work sa oil and gas. 1 month work then 1 month off after. Saya naman nun! Bayad kahit nagpapahinga.hehe.
