    ^ 350 helmet diving.

@chrisjeamar - yep, sasakay ka ng trike going to the other side of the beach kung saan naghehelmet diving.

@airjanjan - nawala ko kasi yung # ng nakausap namin pero compared to others, mas cheaper yung bigay niya. maraming activities, parasailing, atv, island hopping, gimmicks, etc.

pag off season u need to ride tricycle or walk from Budget Mart going to activities area.
300 lang ngayon kay kuya Ron if 4 person and more ang Helmet dive ngayon with pictures and video na. and also sa front beach na lahat ng activities since last week.
ito number ni Kuya Ron at Mang nino para hindi na kayo mahirapan makipag usap pa sa iba kahit tumawad kayo mas mahal padin magagasos nyo. 0920-9060466 or 0922-8876639. for sure the best price possible yan cheapest agad bibigay nyang rate.

Bebeboy, corrections din as of today Oct 22, 2011
Pag sa other port ng Caticlan 25 pesos lang terminal fee going to Tampisaan port ng Boracay.
also there is an aircon boat "Montenegro" for only 30 pesos if the weather and coast guards permits it to travel. better alternative because comfortable seats pero 15 to 30 minutes waiting depending on the time and date kayo pupunta.
Cagban port/ tambisaan port to D'mall 100 ang Tricycle. pag going to Station 1 more expensive na. and 25 pesos each na ang bayad sa trike pag farther than D' Mall to station 1.
Flying fish nasa 600 and Zorb 380 pesos each.
    suggested restaurants na affordable includes:
Smokes Resto (D Mall) around 120 per meal w drinks.
and Jasper's (turo turo) at the Back of D' Mall sa Craft's side. around 60 pesos per meal including drinks.
Talipapa is not cheap because after nyo mag palengke, mag papaluto pa kayo and cooking charge is 150 per kilo of any viands.
when we eat here we expect to pay higher than 300 each for Prawn, Porkchop, Soup and Crabs.
Recommended Gimik places: Cocomangas, Paraw, Guilly's, Ariel's house, Epic Bar, Juice Bar. (as of 2011)
Top thing to do: walk from end to end of the white beach from Boracay terraces up to Asya premier.
added tip, Bring a bottle of water everywhere you go. madaming mapag bibilihan ng mura lang para di nyo kailangan bumili sa Restaurant.
Bawal mag sigarilyo sa Beach habang nag lalakad. pwede lang pag nasa Restaurant kayo naka upo at nasa table na tatapunan ng cigarette butt. strict ito 500 pesos ang fine 1st offense and innocence is not an excuse.

Tamang tama, new thread, I was about to post about our very first Boracay trip EXACTLY 1 week ago (Oct 15-17)

Medyo nag worry nga kami kung matutuloy because few days before that balita nga na na flooded ang Borcay. Just saw some pics nga from the last thread and all I can say is we were lucky wala ng ulan and baha when we went there. In fact it was so sunny and hot it feels like it was still summer! Di mo akalain dinaanan lang ng bagyo. Yung payong na dianla namin for potential rains at least nagamit to shade us against the sun.. hehe

We chose the Manila to Kalibo flight via Cebu Pacific. On Saturday. 5:20 departure so by 4:00 am dapat nandun na. We chose that flight para mas maaga makarating. I drove to the airport and parked my car at NAIA 3, buti na lang may slots pa. it only cost me 100 pesos for 2 overnight parking. Beats the hassle of getting taxi to and fro especially at 3:00am . Surprisingly the flights were full. Arrived in Kalibo before 6:30 am..

Now I did prepare a little research on how to get to Boracay from Kalibo.. so I knew Vans is 100 per head lang pwede na. Saw some services at the airport, 250 per head including boat fee. Kaso closed pa sila. Tapos may nag-alok Southsea service, 380 daw per head. Knew it was more expensive, I looked outside dami nagaalok mga vans.. pero because kulang pa kami sa tulog and excited na rin, we said what the heck and and got it na rin. Theres just 2 of us anyway. So off for 1 and ½ hour drive. All I can say is very comfy yung ride, it’s a big coaster and malamig aircon. Arriving at the Jettyport, they handled getting the ticket and paying the terminal fee, etc (separate pa sa binayad naming). Then off to their very own boat to Boracay. So I guess the extra we paid is for the service they provided. OK na rin for us since its our first time, next time I would know better na.

Arriving at Boracay, 100 pesos special trip sa tricycle to our hotel at Crown Regency Prince, near station 1. Pinagpiliian naming between this and Crown Regency Beach Resort sa may station 3. We weighed if better yung beach resort bec nasa beach na mismo hotel, or dun sa Prince, you had to cross the street and walk to the beach for a few minutes, pero Station 1 na. In the end, sabi kasi nila mas maganda sa Station 1 so we chose that.

Arriving at the hotel, too early for check in, so we left our luggage and roamed around the beach and had breakfast there. My mistake was, while my wife is already dressed in beach attire and slippers sa Manila pa lang, naka pants and shoes pa ako, not thinking I’d be walking at the beach agad before checking in. We had a nice breakfast by the beach, lakad lakad, bili na agad ng beach hat and some burloloys si misis.. hehe.. but its sooo hot early in the morning and I long to be at the hotel na to change and shower.. balik kami sa hotel, di pa ready room, we took a quick tricycle ride to D Mall (10 pesos per person, but its walkable naman.. tamad lang ako… hehe) Walked around, looked at the shops.. had some shakes.. then back at hotel who finally had our room ready by 12 noon, ahead of the 2:00pm checkin time. So relax muna kami sa room at nakatulog ng mahimbing sa aircon because it was soooo hot to go out at noontime.

Left hotel afternoon na, had light snack/late lunch and tried Jonas Shakes just beside our hotel. Yum!! Our hotel is also very convenient, they have a convenient store in the same building, 2 Spas across the street which we went to later, and as I said a short stroll to the beach.

It was just a lazy Starurday for us, didn’t do much or swam yet, we just took in the scenery and walked. We waited for the sunset and took some awesome pics. Then we walked and walked ang layo pala ng Station 1 to Station 2.. I don’t think we even reached station 3 before deciding to head back bec we were getting tired. Sooo many restos to choose from… ended up in some buffet fare that was just so-so. 350 pesos per head. (there were some that were cheaper, and some that were more expensive). I didn’t note na the names of the restos.. So not much happened on Day 1. We did book for our activity for Day 2.. Helmet Diving. Oh we did try the Fish Spa near D Mall where the fish eats the dead skin off your feet.. hehe ticklish and a different experience. Plus may kasama pang massage..

We booked for Helment Diving for the next day at 400 per person. I think may commission pa bec we booked it sa Glassbottom boat. Di pala sa kanila yun, but they can sell. We were going to do glassbottomboat, pero saw that Helmet Diving seemed more interesting. Besides, I wear glasses so mas ok yung Helmet kesa Snorkeling. Someone picked us up at the hotel by 9:00am (after a sumptuous breakfast buffet at the hotel), took us to the beach where we rode a boat to the place where we’ll be diving. (medyo mahaba na pala post ko so ill keep the rest short). Basta super sulit ang helmet diving. At 400 pesos per head, its really cheap for me (someone is saying pwede pa nga 300 pesos lang). Just the boat ride and the tambay at the raft where they do the diving is already bonus na nga. Tapos free pa ang video and pics of the experience. Di ba yung iba nga dyan na mga tourist traps e 100 pesos na agad 1 pic na “souvenir” lang? Sarap ng dive and to see all the beautiful fishes surrounding you. We were also told to sked it at 9:00 am so marami pa ang fish, di pa sila busog and di masyadong mainit. There were indeed hundreds of beautiful fishes.. kung pwede nga lang humuli at maguwi ng isa e.. haha pero syempre bawal.
For us, ok na yung 1 activity na yun.. we almost went for island hopping, but I think its just riding a boat and taking us around , so parang ganun na rin yung trip naming sa helmet diving e..

Spent the rest of the day beach bumming, then sleeping na naman sa hotel (makes me wonder kung nasayang tuloy trip naming tulog lang ng tulog pero sarap kasi matulog e…hehe and cant stand the heat for long).. then of coarse swimming late afternoon till sunset na.. walking some more, bought a bunch of pasalubongs.. personalized pens na handpainted… (everyone loved them). Saw a firedancing show, and again had to choose where to eat. I wanted to eat yung may band, so we found one with nice food, ordered shrimp and crabs plus some BBQ.. nice sounds pero after 2 songs e tapos nap ala yung bad… suya.. hehe.. its nice eating at the beach with the sand under your feet. Sarap ng dinner.. Chili Crabs so parang Singapore crabs style.. hehe.. Damage is 2,000 or 1,000 per person (mahal ng seafood.. buti nga di na kami nag lobster kundi mas mahal pa). Late na kami finish dinner.. had a massage across our hotel till 12 midnight before heading back.

Day 3 uwian na.. had early breakfast and had to head back to Kalibo to meet our 12:30 flight. I wanted to get the later flight at 5:30pm sana pero inisip ko baka magkaproblema, we might end up stuck in Kalibo. SO better get the 1st flight, at least may option pa ng 2nd flight if nagkaproblema.

Getting at the Jetty port, someone again offered as ride to Kalibo airport 200 pesos per head. Saw a sign elsewhere that says 100 to Kalibo, 170 to Kalibo airport (as in iba pala sa airport) so ok na yung 200 per head (compared sa 380 we took going to Caticlan) Yun ngalang na Van we rode was smaller and aircon wasn’t that cool. Not as comfortable as the coaster we rode in coming in, pero pwede na rin for 200.

I wonder if what kind of transpo ba yung tig 100 per head?
Anyway, it was a memorable 3D 2N stay in Boracay. For years we thought of going, but before I think it was gonna be too much hassle. I didn’t get the taking bus pa, then jetty port pa, then tricycle pa, then ano ba yang stations 1, 2 and 3 pa etc etc. Thought it was gonna be confusing, yun naman pala hindi. Its easy lang.

Also I learned kayang kaya na 3 days. Nag absent lang kami nung Monday from work, so next time a 3 day weekend should do it. Although I doubt we would go back there sa summer .. I hear theres so many people. Perfect timing pumunta late October.. Their peak season starts in November or last week of October so tama lang punta naming.. going into peak season.. and we were lucky to have missed the flooding that just happened few days before we got there.

So what are you waiting for? Mag BORA (cay) na!! *okay*

Spez, Caticlan to Kalibo proper is only 100 pesos via van. pero Caticlan port to Kalibo Airport is 175. same goes if galing kayo ng Kalibo Airport going to caticlan it wil be 175 pesos. and if from Kalibo Proper 100 pesos lang to Caticlan.
so consider this - If you want 100 pesos then go to Kalibo van station, take a connecting TRICYCLE. which will cost you atleast 50 pesos. ask the tricycle driver to be sure. some will charge you 80 pesos for the tricycle..
not worth it! specially kung may bitbit kayong gamit..

Paki double check naman itong ginawa ko.

To Boracay via (MNL) - Caticlan:

    NAIA Terminal fee 200
Caticlan Terminal fee 50 / 25 ( Other port ng Caticlan ex.
    Tampisaan Port
    Environmental fee 75
    Tricycle ?
    Bangka 25 / 30 Aircon
    Tricycle 25 / 100 Special

    To Manila via Kalibo:

    Tricycle 20 / 100
    Terminal fee 20
    Opt: 1 Van + boat package 200

    Opt: 2 DIY
    Van 175
    Bangka 25

    1 ½ - 2 hours drive to the airport
  • BoraBoyBoraBoy Member PExer
Tama yan. always leave 4 hours before your flight from you hotel para safe na you will be in Kalibo airport over an hour before your flight. dahil minsan nag hihintay un van mapuno and if kaka alis lang ng van may araw na 30 minutes ka mag hihintay sa caticlan. worst is nag sasakay at nag bababa sila ng pasahero on the way to kalibo airport kaya puwedeng less than 2 hours travel time at puwedeng more than 2 hours at may waiting period pa.
  • vanj_ksvanj_ks Member PExer
^ we did just that, left kalibo 4hrs before our flight. sa port pa lang, kumuha na kami nung 200 boat & van. pagdating sa kabila, grabe! ang tagal ng hinintay namin sa van. we arrived at kalibo airport exactly 45mins before the flight time. sobrang stressed talaga ko the whole time ng byahe. kala ko masasaraduhan na kami ng counter. buti pagdating namin dun, open pa. thank you PAL!

MY ADVICE: dun na kayo sa kabila humanap ng van/bus papuntang kalibo airport. mas madali mapuno and madami naman.

thanks for clarifying Boraboy the diff between van fares. :)
Ok na rin pala yung 200 pesos kinuha namin from Caticlan to Kalibo. After arrival sa Jetty port may nag offer na agad, sabi may paalis na daw so dirediretso na kami. (I guess its easier na 2 lang kami). So ok na yung extra 25 pesos per head.

I guess the thing lang with choosing transpo is you dont know what van you'll end up with. Unless dun mismo sa tabi ng Van ang pilian and bayaran. So you might end up with an older van with not so cool aircon. Wala bang mga Starex or Hilux dyan? hehe :)

As i said, mas comfy yung Kalibo to Caticlan namin pero mahal naman @ 380. :) Coaster na van. Maganda sana kung may ganyan din @ 200 lang.. hehe

Everyone adviced us nga to leave Boracay 4 hours before, but we left 3 hours (less pa nga konti). I calculated 10 mins hotel to jetty port, 10 mins to caticlan (I read before 20 mins to 30 mins daw, but the boat ride was just actually 5 mins. I guess the rest of the time is waiting time and pila for the fees). Luckily walang pila.. maybe its because its off season and its Monday. Siguro kung Sunday PM yun, mas maraming pauwi. Tapos 1 1/2 hour to 2 hours van ride. So we arrived at the airport with 45 mins to spare pa.. na kapag checkin naman and we even took 30 mins to go out at the airport to buy some pasalubongs na food items naman.. (we only bought pens and other crafts from Boracay).

Im looking forward to our next visit to Boracay.. next year naman uli. Sama na kids this time :) Mas alam ko na pasikot sikot so we'll probably have a fuller itinerary by then.

Boraboy should be able to answer you better, because I cant give you the exact location. I think its in Station 2.

Night 1, there was a fire dance show near a buffet resto I wanted to try. Resto rin ang nag fi-fire dance. From afar I saw what i thought was 2 ladies doing the fire dance pero nung lumapit kami 2 gays pala. Haha!! :rotflmao: I was looking pa naman sana for sexy ladies doing it para "hot".. hehe

Night 2, we saw different fire dance, different location. Guys naman and 1 girl, pero natapos na agad yung girl, naiwan yung guys.. ang maganda nun is they allow people to watch and video/take pics of the show even if di naman dun kakain. Took some vid and pics of the performance.

Btw, i forgot to point out, i didnt notice that much night life after 10pm. There were a few clubs with some dance music, with some folks dancing, but not crowded, and no hot sexy ladies dancing ala Anne Curtis and Party Pilipinas.. haha.. Maybe its bec its off season?

Boraboy kelan ba ang nightlife na ganun? hehe?

Fire dancers perform everynight in MO2 Bar in front of Regency hotel in between the band music station 2. and also in front of Sand Bar in Station 1. they cancel it if it is raining. but if it's peak season, there is also 1 in Aria in front of D' mall (seasonal).

it is best not to get a package for boat and van from caticlan. better pay 25 for the boat and then pick a van in caticlan with many passengers already waiting inside para siguradong paalis na. :) same price lang naman so no need for package and u get to pick which van to ride. though 2 groups lang naman yun choice nyo. yun BLTMPC and another coop that has a permit to wait for passengers from the port. any other vans that are not part of this 2 coops are not allowed to wait for passengers unless pre arranged na by the tourist. that way, the local government can protect the tourist that the driver will bring them to the airport for sure and not bring them anywhere else. :)
