Help Alternator Problem! Repair or Buy Surplus

Guys,

I have a 1997 Toyota Corolla EX biglang tumirik kotse ko kanina. Sabi nang mechanic bili ka na lang nang surplus. What are your thoughts? Any one experience the same problem. Sabi nya if surplus gagastos ako nang close to 4k? Bad trip nga.Thanks all... :(

4k? That's too much. Canvass ka ng surplus sa banawe. Toyocars is a good store.

Mas ok bumili na lang ng surplus. Just make sure fresh pa makuha mo.

remanufactured is ok too, usually ang nasisira sa alternator yung wiring sa loob, bale gagawin nila papalitan lang ng bagong set ng wires yung loob tapos same casing ang gagamitin, mga 2k ang gastos mo, yung surplus kasi hit and miss, minsan pagtesting mo sa pinagbilhan ok, pero ilan buwan lang sira na, o kaya naman mismatch yung kabitan sa makina or voltage o yung pulley, at least sa reman alam mo bago yung wiring and i.c.

oo nga nag kanvass nako kagabi na sa mga 1800-2k. Plus 800 labor daw.

Buy a reconditioned unit from a electrical shop. We got ours from Reys Electrical before and its works well up to today (over 2 years); comes with a limited warranty too.

yup. mas maayos if remanufactured. i also have 1997 corolla XE and nasira din alternator ko last 2007. pina repair ko sa rey's electrical (pasig along raymundo ave.). pumalpak lang kase maingay after a day. ibinalik ko sa kanila, instead na i-repair nila ulit, inalok na lang ako ng remanufactured. can't remember exact amount na nagastos ko pero parang P3.4k to P2.7k. i am still using it until this day.

Buy a new made in japan alternator hindi dapat toyota din meron nyan replacement pero brand new.

As for me I'm solved on fresh surplus. Since most cars from Japan are used for just a few years, they are still very much usable and still in factory spec.

Most surplus shops will allow you to have their alternators load tested before you purchase. Some would give 1 week warranty.

Depends on the car also; if you're talking of an early to mid 90's model vehicle, these parts are already well over 15 to 20 years old if you're talking surplus.

any recommended shop na surplus? makati or pasig area.

my ride is a lancer box type sl. ic type na yung alternator ko. 2 ac shop na nagsabi sira nga daw. :(

Nagcanvass ako sa RGL AC Shop sa Evangelista, Makati 2.8k with 3 months warranty.

Same sa Maroon AC Shop, sa Dela Cruz AC 2.5k all here in Makati.

Pwede ka rin magpa-repair ng alternator/starter sa York along EDSA... near Santolan...

Plan ko nga dun kay Rey magpunta. May idea po ba kayo ng price range ng alternator? Salamats.

Problem solved! Change the alternator to 90amp pang Lancer Pizza.

Mga paps pahelp naman . Saan pwede makabili ng surplus alternator malapit dito sa ortigaz ugong. Salamat sa mga sasagot. At suggest na din po mekaniko. Kung ok. Para palitan

I don't know a shop in Ugong but you should try to go to Rey's Electrical in Marikina which isn't that far from where you are.

My Vios 04

Mga master yung vios ko una kumurap ilaw tapos dinala ko sa e shop pero di na ako naasikaso kaya inuwi ko na lang tapos the next day dead na kahit battery. Tingin ko overcharged alternator baka voltage regulator. Tama ba? Nadamay kaya yung battery? Di kaya pati computer box damay din? Sana hindi. Pls help advise. God bless.
