Avanza J or APV GA?

I have been thinking about buying either one of these 2 vehicles in the next 2-3 months. Gusto ko lang agahan yung research between the two at alam kong maraming expert dito.

Which is the bang for the buck car between the two?

Alin sa dalawa yung kayang umakyat sa baguio ng hindi hirap kahit loaded?

Pahabol na rin about the cheapest sentra. Ano yung pros and cons niya.

Yang 3 lang talaga choices ko kasi this will be a family car. Sub-compacts won't do because of the legroom.

APV - small family van, 8 seater, 1.5 or 1.6 gas 16 valve . medyo masikip lang ang engine compartment . mas malaki ang pasenger cabin ..

Avanza - more car like, 7 seater, 1.3J & 1.5G . in the long run mas madaming surplus parts dahil madaming gumagamit as taxi .

in the end ilang ba ang isasakay mo sa auto ? get a 1.5 or 1.6 kung akyatan di ka bibigyan ng problem with full pasenger load.

Given a choice between avanza or apv, go avanza. the apv a gas guzzler. you'd be lucky if you get 7km per liter.

Thanks for the inputs. Mas inclined ako sa Avanza kasi car feel talaga. Ilang taxi na avanza rin sinakyan ko and I rode both in front and at the back. Sobrang comfortable. Ang worry ko lang talaga is kung kaya ba umakyat ng baguio ng 1.3J na loaded with 5 passengers (including driver) + yung gamit na pang 1 week stay dun.

As for the APV ngayon ko lang nalaman na gas guzzler pala siya. For sure passengers will be comfortable. Yung driver seat nga lang ang problema. Medyo hindi ganun kaganda and masikip yung area ng driver.

Anong 1.5 na car ang under 600k at sulit talaga? Dito medyo makakasigurado na kayang umakyat.

if you go avanza, i would suggest go 1.5

if you're after legroom and space take a look at accent 1.4 which is priced at 588k

APV:
- Space
- 1.6L engine (yes, matakaw sa gas ang a/t model, i dont know about the m/t though)
- suspension seems sturdy (our office unit still has no signs of kalampag after 60,000kms of office driver abuse)

Avanza:
- Possibly more economical (but expect the FC with a heavy load to drop since the engine will have to work harder).
- More parts availability as compared to the Zuk.

Given a choice and based on my experience w/ them, i may lean more towards the APV in m/t form. I have the same problem with the APV though when it comes to the driver side due to the limited space on the footwell with the pedals.

Both cars can climb Baguio as long as you use the gears properly.

Accent intrigues me a lot. Parang sulit na sulit siya sa price niya.

Any feedback about the Sentra rumored being sold at 499K?

Yeah, its mainly because the front wheel well protrudes into the pedal area. Weird since all other seats in the car have very good legroom except for the driver. The test drive should be the clincher.

As for the Sentra 1.3, i find it underpowered especially if y9ou'll load it up with baggage and fill with passengers; a Vios would give better space and power-to-weight ratio IMO.

At the end, the test drive should be the clincher.

APV for me... It is using the Vitara engine kaya tested na yan. Laki pa ng legroom. Kaya nyan yung Baguio. Although matagtag sya but once loaded ka na ay OK na ang suspension nya. Try to squeeze 7 passengers from manila to Baguio sa Avanza and APV then you will know.

Halos same lang naman sila, pero downside nung APV eh lakas sa gas, so I guess Avanza for me.
