  • using public transpo, with 4 10 min stops, it takes 7 hours from manila to ilocos.

private car, around 5 hours siguro, give 1 hour for breaks etc.
  • 5 hours?? @[email protected] seriously? i was expecting like 7-8 hours of driving since it is farther than baguio.

If Ilocos Sur, expect around 6-7 hours of easy driving.

I'm sure the more experienced drivers take less then that. (i.e. manila to La Union in 3 hours then another 2 hours to Vigan).

The time of day you drive also matters; better to leave early AM and you'll be in Ilocos by lunch time.

    that's suicide.
  • It will depend on your speed, easy driving (slex, sctex: 80-100km/h; macarthur, normal road: 60-80km/h) should be around 8-9hrs. The view while driving in Ilocos will be nice and the PUV's are quite disciplined, they know how to use the side of the road when unloading/loading passenger and when someone want to pass them by. Try to have a full tank when you leave from manila because the gas in the north is more expensive.
  • distance = maybe more than 400km (280km ang baguio e)
time = depends, what time byahe mo, san ka manggaling at anong driving style mo?

kung gabi tapos lapit ka lang sa nlex, mga 5-7 hours kung 60-100kph ka at di ka minalas na maraming truck.. add more hours kung umaga dahil sa tricycle, traffic at pedestrians...
  • Thanks for the input guys. I'll be coming from makati leaving around 3pm. I'll probably be stuck in EDSA for an hour or so.
  • ^ masarap na tulog yan pagdating mo dun, which i assume before or midnight na.

Just make sure yung tulog mo is when you arrive and not while you drive. *okay*

siguro kung normal na kotse like l300 *** kotse mo expect from laoag to manila 10 hours, pero kung camry or any luxury car kayang kaya ng 8 or 6 hours suicide driving

Actually there's a world of difference between a luxury/sport car and your usual 1.6/1.3/SUv/AUV/van during long trips. What feels like suicide driving on the latter can be a walk in the park for the former due to more power, better insulation and stability.

When i would take nice, luxo car on a long trip, i would usually arrive less tired and drained as compared to when i would drive a pick-up, van or Corolla-typed cars.
