ACS Inc. announces new Operations Mgt. Team

In an effort to strengthen organizational efficiency, Advanced Contact Solutions, Inc. announced the composition of its new operations management team.
Tasked to oversee the company's over-all operations, logistics and implementations of various client requirements, the new team will be headed by Joseph Edward Dy, formerly of TelePerformance USA.
He wil also be assisted by new Program Managers, Carlo Ian Jose (formerly of Convergys), and Hanson Chua (formerly of Teletech).
Paul Martin, vice president for marketing, explained that ACS Inc. is moving towards a multiple channel, single brand market strategy. This is the reason why ACS Inc. is bringing in industry experts.

  • and that's also the reason why they had to "downgrade" their IT support team to 20 agents to 1 IT support? and that's also the reason why they "laid off" people just before Christmas season.

    >.<
  • Yes laid off more than 60 support personnel. Did a fault finding mission to "dismiss" program heads too. In fact, the person Carlo Ian Jose replaced was dismissed 15 hours before it was announced that he was joining the team as the replacement.

Impressive sourcing, recruiting, interviewing to get this all done in less than 15 hours.

Of course the reality here is, this was pre planned.
  • nag sa sour grape ka lang, acs voices. you must be one of those na sinasabi nilang mienbro ng mafia ng acs. fault finding pala yung nahuli kayong ginagamit nyo sa sarili nyong kapakanan ang incentives ng mga agents. and you claim to be the voice of acs?
  • chardlatorre - you can talk and talk all you want. The evidence, the real evidence, not the ones you doctored will comes out. You think you are in power now, kayo na ang next. There are members joining the higher team real soon and you and your department is the next that will be focused on. cant wait till that day comes. and yes we are the real voice of acs becaused we will reveal all the truth and lies you have been giving. very near. very soon.
  • even members of your own audit team feels very betrayed by you. you just uses them after that you fired then too.... tsk tsk tsk. very bad. im very sure that your legal team will continue to be occupied because of more and more cases filed againts you. when the hearing comes, who do you thinks the judges will side against? those you fired hurriedly or you the big big company with all the money. think think think...
  • LOL.

Like whatever. Tell that to the people that they "laid off" like people from Mellon. Oh and when they lost Directv because ACS training skills sucks. ;P

And please my connections are right there up in the ranks.

  • Is this is the Cubao site?

The company would merge with other affiliates and be under the name of Paxys, hence the company would definitely be bigger, so why was there a mass lay off of 68 support personnel?

Can't afford newspaper ads anymore?
  • +1. ACS is the epitome of cheapness. Especially with those in power now. puro backstabbing and misinformations ang ginagawa. See how clevery they led away from the issues and raised new ones like "sour graping" and "hackers" tsks tsk tsk

Here are the process para sa pagfile ng case sa NLRC

    (Source: http://panyero.net/im-not-fired-coz-your-sued/)

Just fill up the form, viola…may instant case ka na, may schedule pa agad for mediation and conciliation hearing.

karamihan sa mga Team Managers, TL's, Program Heads, Directors particularly sa call center, hindi alam ito.. remember: Company Rules and Regulation must be compromise STILL with our Philippine Labor Laws...

Kaya yan, sa susunod na sasabihan kayo ng boss ninyo na “You’re fired!“, answer back and say, “I’m not fired ‘coz you’re sued!”

try nyo din check itong forum na ito for more information..

  • thank you lucban10 very helpful post. punta ako nlrc this week para sampahan kaso mga ito, actually 3 kami eh.
  • Dear Ex-employee,
You may want to read Philippine Star dated Oct. 24, 2010, where this same item was published.
This is an open platform to exchange ideas, and share information. Thus, this announcement.
The intention is to share to a wider audience through other alternative venues like most companies now are doing.
    Thanks.

  • We agree with you lucban10. Any employee, including that from ACS, who feels that they were unjustly dismissed, or mishandled should address their grievance to the proper venue - NLRC - and not just voicing their concerns over this forum. We welcome these concerns brought to the right forum, so that they will be answered properly and legally.

In addition, you might also want to look into the labor code article 283, which states that "The employer may also terminate the employment of any employee due to the installation of labor saving devices, redundancy, retrenchment to prevent losses...In case of termination due to labor saving devices or redundancy, the worker affected thereby shall be entitled to a separation pay.

Management went through thorough studies to establish that these positions that were deemed redundant and those affected by the initiative have been properly compensated.

  • Certainly you must be talking about yourself, administrator of ACS Voices. ACS today does not have power held by a few individuals - like it was during your time. ACS now partners not just with the managers, but also with the agents, in exploring ways to improve how this company should be managed.

+1. ACS is the epitome of cheapness. Especially with those in power now. puro backstabbing and misinformations ang ginagawa. See how clevery they led away from the issues and raised new ones like "sour graping" and "hackers" tsks tsk tsk
  • Dear Kimrod16,

ACS Inc. has always been an affiliate of Paxys Inc. Paxys is the holding company of several other companies which are independent from each other.

68 versus 3,000 employees is hardly a "mass". In fact, combining all Paxys affiliate companies employees, this would only be 1%.

The reason behind the let-go of these employees is that they were occupying positions deemed redundant, even if your assumption of mergers would come into place.

Take for example the assertion of the other poster here - IT. The IT structure was assumed to serve an organization of 6,000 agents. We only have 3,000. Thus, there are those in IT practically doing nothing.

And since ACS is not an charitable institution, we can not allow ourselves to bleed continuously.

Thus, painful as it may be, we have to let go of the 68 to save the 3,000.

    Thanks.

@HRACS2010: yeah, It should really been address to the proper venue for any cases like Illegal Dismissal and others. Sadly, due to number of Labor cases everyday, Agents who were unjustly dismissed wants really justice and at the same time delaying on the part of the Management, I am saying this because that is really the reality in our society today.

I hope that those agents who were unjustly dismissed by their Managers at ACS will be guided to the proper procedure on how to file cases and not just voicing out concerns here at Pex. Although Forums are good but still as you've said there's a proper venue for concerns.

IMHO, Managers, TL's or Directors in Operations has sometimes a problem regarding the understand of our Labor Code. I don't think the Management should be blame for the dismissal illegally by their superiors, The blame should be on the Operations Team.

Just want to say Thank you for the complement and for being impartial and well professional in terms of giving comments and opinions. I hope that you will be the one to clarify those issues happening in this company. :D
  • Dear fatalframeaddict,

PEX to our knowledge is a free forum. As such, anyone can post any information they would like to share for the benefit of the public. Since it is free, of course it is cheap. The last time we checked, this is not a crime. We just want to reach a wider public in different venues -- newspaper being just one (and oh you may want to read this same info at Philippine Star Oct 24 issue).

To correct your information, WNS is still a joint venture of Paxys, as was always. It was never a joint venture of ACS. They move to a better venue as part of their brand positioning. The ACS Cubao site is now being prepared for our new client that is requiring a bigger seating capacity. Watch out for that...and you might want to apply.

What happened to Stream and Directv are a few reasons why we brought in seasoned management team, full of integrity, hard work and dedication. They will be the corner stone to make ACS better than before.

    Thanks.
