dollars, or currency (money) in general is a commodity, and yes, hoarding is a factor, basically, the more dollars in this country, the higher the peso is against the dollar, and vice versa.

sa bank? technically hindi. pwede sya for "trade/commercial" transactions (e.g. pay off loan, pay off merchandise), pero dapat declare mo as such.

there's a certain limit to the amount you can buy; but of course, it depends kung gaano ka laki deposits mo sa bangko ;) hehe, but the cap is usually around 5k dollars.

for trade transactions there's no limit as long as you can back it up with cash, collateral or receivables.

    Up this thread.
  • Buying dollar sa bank is usually kelangan mo muna mag pa reserve sa banko atleast 1 day before.

Even account holder needs to do the same. Unless, my available dollar pa sa branch.

You can try your luck kahit hindi ka nag pa reserve.

Sa mga walang dollar account, i dont know much about the restriction but if is legit transaction, i dont find any reason na hindi ka pag bilhan ng dollar sa bank.

They'll ask you naman where will you use it.
Once you filled up their form, you will also need to supply proof of documents such
For instance, my officemate went to Brazil last year, since there's no direct exchange between PHP and brazillan money, they had to buy dollars and bring it to brazil to exchange to their local currency. He provided his passport, and airline itinerary.
