Sola Scriptura is the Latin word for Scripture alone. Eh nasaan sa Scriptures yun? PAALALA: Ang Sola Scriptura ay ang reperens ng mga turo ay dapat nasa Biblia salita per salita (wala nga Sola Scriptura sa Biblia eh).

^The three solas of the Protestants:

Sola Fides
Sola Scriptura
Sola Gratia

Nagmula naman ang three solas na ito nung panahon na napahiwalay na si Martin Luther, isang matalinong Agustinian Priest, dahil sa thesis na ginawa niya about the abuses of the Church. Isa sa problema kasi noon ang mga indulgences na binibigay. At noong mga panahon na ito, wala pang separation of church and state. Dagdag pa, nung panahon na iyon, walang balak na humiwalay si Martin Luther sa Western Church. And as the series of events progressed, Luther was forced to separate himself from the church and take care of the group of followers to his cause. After this, the Western church renamed itself to RCC.

The Lutheran's doctrines can be considered to be one of the closest to the RCC since Luther himself may have a doctorate degree with regards to the faith before he was forced to separate. And the three Solas was their response to the indulgences and the other abuses done during that time. AFAIK, the Lutheran's baptism is already being honored by the RCC.

^pero tatlo lang ang official na kinikilala sa lahat ng protestants. redundant na yung dalawa. not to mention contradicting din. Not to mention that Lutherans continue to honor Mary and other saints.
