I used to be. That was until I discovered off-road driving.

As for driving tips, what driving tips do you want? Launch techniques? Cornering? Braking? I'll give you one for each for now.

Launching:

as opposed to what we see in movies, excessive wheelspin will only hurt your acceleration times. It is better that you optimize your launch RPM to minimize wheelspin so that your car will 'hook up' correctly and you can plant the gas the rest of the way.

Cornering:

always try to brake before cornering. Get a good line, then just power through. Braking mid-corner upsets a vehicle's balance which may result in fishtailing, a spin, or a roll.

Braking:

if you have ABS, just stomp the brake pedal as hard as you can and worry about nothing (except getting rear-ended by the car behind you). for non-ABS brakes, you should know how to feel if your brakes have reached the 'threshold' (that is, the point where more braking power would result in a wheel locking up). You should know this because it is in that threshold that maximum braking power is available though at the risk of skidding.

Miata Club? The sister of someone I know belongs to that club. I think they meet at the Global City during weekends.
