09-10 regular season awards predictions

shanebattiershanebattier PEx Rookie ⭐
With three quarters of the season done and the playoffs fast looming here's my take on who should get the hardware come season's end:

MVP Lebron James

Hands down. Cavs have the best record in the league (47-14 so far), #1 in scoring (29.9 ppg), #6 in assists (8.5 apg), 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 1 block and shoots over 50% from the field....'Nuff said.

ROY Tyreke Evans

Brandon Jennings had a better start off the blocks and Stephen Curry is ending the season spectacularly, but I have to give it to Evans (20.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 5.4 apg, 1.5 spg) for his better all-around numbers, his consistency througout the season, and because the Kings would be challenging the Nets for worst record in the league without him.

6th Man Jamal Crawford

Anderson Varejao & Jason Terry deserve second looks here, but Crawford leads all reserves in scoring (17.3 ppg), has been instrumental in Atlanta's resurgence, has made Mike Bibby's inconsistencies bearable, and has made so many clutch shots throughout the season. Great pick-up (and understated) by the Hawks.

All NBA

3rd Team

Deciding between Durant, Dirk and Melo for the other forward spot on the 1st team was the hardest decision yet. I decided to give to Durant for the simple fact that he is on the verge of carrying the OKC Thunder to the playoffs, something which NO ONE predicted at the start of the season.

at parring awa an.. is Gernett doesn't deserve any award this year! kahit All Star we all know he doesn't deserve it.
  • yahoo sportswriters are pushing for durant as MIP.

COY: labo labo pa. Brooks, Carlisle (a late entrant), Skiles, and maybe Sloan ang labanan. If I had a vote, I'd pick Brooks. the thunder will be contenders for many, many years with that young-still-getting-better core of players. and every time players mesh well, you have to give credit to the coach. however, if dallas finishes strong, Carlisle could win.

kawawa naman si carmelo no? with Lebron there, he has had to fight off so many other forwards for the 1st team. he's been consistent with his contributions year in and year out. kaso, he's always getting edged by someone who's having a fantastic year also. parang ayaw sa kanya ng mga voters. naaawa talaga ako.

TD will probably be 2nd team center over amar'e because the voters will find little things here and there against him. TD is a templated vote for many sportswriters.

and i agree with the Garnett reference above. he's a hall-of-famer in waiting but please recognize it when a man is done.
