DLS-CSB Statement on Influenza A(H1N1)

"
De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) has no suspected cases of Influenza A(H1N1), but we are being vigilant and have been taking preventive measures to ensure the well-being and safety of the members of our community. Our administrators are meeting regularly to monitor the situation in our campuses and to discuss next steps.

As a precautionary measure, only current members of the DLS-CSB's academic community and those transacting official business with the College will be allowed on campus until further notice.

Please check the DLS-CSB website (www.dls-csb.edu.ph) for updates and developments. "

Let's just pass around the message guys. :)

And because of the AH1N1 scare etc, the high ups decided to cancel the Singapore trip of the MMA delegates representing the school in the upcoming CG Overdrive that's going to happen in less than 2 weeks.

Sabi sa bagong statement ng DLS-CSB.

And there's even a disclaimer regarding CSB's relation to La Salle (old stereotypes die hard indeed) as well as a note for frantic parents.

Uso na rin ang face masks since last Thursday!

Ang bagong fashion statement on campus...

But seriously, students feels that the need for the admin to declare a suspension is worth calling for. What do you think?

i totally agree. i've seen on tv last night that ched is potsponing the opening of classes. covered rin kaya nito CSB considering nagstart na classes sa benilde?
  • Epal talaga. Mukhang tayo nalang ang kolehiyo na may klase.

    @ carmelengo:
Hindi covered ang CSB nito kasi may 3 weeks na tayong nagcaclass. Ang covered lang ng postponement ay yung may semestral schools.

    @ CSB suspension:
Isipin niyo nalang kapag na-suspend ang classes. Tayo rin ang mahihirapan. Tambak ang mga gagawin natin pag resume ng classes at sayang ang matututunan since walang make-up class kapag nagsuspend ng classes due to A(H1N1) scare. :D

guys consider this one.. if tayo lang ang college na mei pasok then masusunod ng normal yung mga schedule at plans for the term kasi kung magiging 10 days suspended ehh ang laki ng hahabulin natin sa make-up classes... sayang naman i feel masyadong naapektohan yung mga students .. mas matakot nalang tayo sa dengue mas maraming namamatay dun..

    just my two cents

your points are valid -- but only from the perspective of convenience. but what if all of a sudden a case or two of confirmed H1N1 infection among benildean students surfaces? since the suspension of classes in dlsu-m, csb has been getting feedback from worried parents and confused students for the school to also follow suit. remember, we share the same facilities with dlsu-main's students, we eat in the same restaurants and some even live in the same dorms and pads. but guess what? the school simply reasons out that we don't have a confirmed case...yet.

sheeshh. talk about being proactive. ;-[
  • We might as well change our chants.

    Ah1n1mo Lasalle! Ah1n1 Benilde!
  • no confirmed case = no 10 day suspension

they dont want to suspend for 10 days only to go back and find out a confirmed case and suspend it again for 10 days.

on another angle, if the school suspends classes for God knows how long, we might as well kiss our term break goodbye...:(

judging from the collective paranoia of the students and parents, what csb admin could do is at least to suspend classes until June 15 along with around 90% other colleges which have to heed the new directive of CHED. this would at least allay our fears and will give everyone ample time to sanitize and prepare more against this h1n1 scare. again, csb's close proximity from dlsu-m and the constant interaction among students of both schools should be given strong consideration. yung ibang schools nga nagsuspinde or nagdefer ng classes nila kahit wala pa silang confirmed case. and that was actually even before ched's issuance. ika nga, it's always best to err on the side of caution.

oh boy, im talking to myself again:bop:
