Tips for incoming masters froshies

I'm an incoming masteral freshman this coming May, taking a course from the College of Liberal Arts. What should I expect from studying in DLSU--- I know masters is different from college as it is going to be a bit research based, and the classes are going to be late, etc. But generally, what could prepare me for it? :) Thanks!

This is for grad school, right? Konting thread lang naman I think. Yung undergrad frosh madami!

May orientation naman before the term starts, do attend that para may idea ka, saturday naman yan. May free meal pa. Bibigyan ka nila ng book/guide about DLSU and the do's and dont's. All classes during weekdays starts at 6PM (ends at 9pm if your class is 1x per week or 7:30 if 2x per week). May saturday class din (AM and PM)
  • Kasi iba naman ang freshmen sa undergrads kesa sa masters degree freshmen. Ikaw ba 108XXXXX pag tinanong ka namin about masters degree freshmen questions, may maisasagot ka ba?

I second the motion. Obvious naman na ibang-iba ang masteral frosh sa undergrad frosh eh...so there really IS a need for this thread.

Plenty of research and paperwork. Set aside a substantial sum for photocopies (minsan mga prof na magbibigay, naka-ready na, bayad na lang hehe). Class participation grade hinges on the group report, kaya dapat maganda yung presentation. Also, ayos lang pag tardy kapag nasa graduate school. Minsan nga prof pa madalas mag-absent, lalo na diyan sa Liberal Arts (because of their commitments abroad din). hahahaha:bop::lol:

What I like masters class in DLSU is that all resources are given by the Prof (in CCS). Some subjects are very easy, some are very difficult.

Yep, lot of researches. Having a close friend in class is very helpful :) Our classes starts on time most of the time, but our prof accepts latecomers as most students are working on a day shift.

kalimitan ba ilang taon mga nagmamasters?

sa klase namin (MS-IT), most student's age ranges from 23-28.
may mga iba din na after graduating from college (undergrad), proceed agad sa gradschool. pero karamihan, may previous working experience and most naka at least 2 years na sa work.

may mga classmates din ako na pang 2nd degree na nila sa masters (some even were lawyers)

I believe the more appropriate term for that is masters instead of masteral (Doctorate for PhD). I took my undergrad at UP, at pinagsabihan ako ng colleague ko. I used the term masteral before eh.
