Phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride

i've read some reports saying that this ingredient may lead to hemorrhage. is this fact or rumor? i've been using products (tavegyl, sudafed, decolgen, etc.) containing this ingredient for some 10 years now. thanks!

    In the NEJM (New England Journal of Medicine) article last December, it has been linked to an increase in the risk of stroke (hemorrhagic) in younger people particularly in women. If I were you, I wouldn't take it - many prodcuts containing phenylpropanolamine have already been taken off the market in the US and other countries. If you want to know about alternatives, talk to your physician.
