i've googled a few recipes kaso i'd want to get it from someone who's actually done it.

graham crackers din ba ito like the one for mango/peach float?

nakita ko kasi sa recipe ng nestle eh digestive biscuit ang gamit? what in the world is that? :D

    I think Marie Biscuits are examples of digestive biscuits.

    Anyway, some recipes call for a graham cracker crust. Besides you can't go wrong with a graham cracker crust. Bili ka na lang ng crushed graham sa grocery para less hassle hehe. :lol:

    I tried making it, tagal lang hintayin yung condensed milk maging toffee. :lol:

    This is the really basic one I got from this site

    I've experimented a little with some variants like:
    A sprinkle of nutmeg on the bananas and whip cream. Gives it an interesting flavor.

    Chocolate powder or coffee powder over the bananas and whip cream.

    And I've also tried a layered version and one with an Oreo crust instead of graham. :)

  • yung condensed na luto aka toffee? sa bulacan nakakabili kami ng ganun eh.
  • Matagal ko na rin gustong gawin ang bannofee pie. Ano ba mas masarap na gawing crust? Graham or marie biscuits?

    hehe because of this thread, gumawa ako ng marami 3 pans worth. Galit tuloy mga tao sa bahay sa kin, pinapataba ko daw sila. :lol:

    I like graham crusts over the marie crusts or oreo crusts for the banofee pie.

    I do wonder kung paano ginagawa ng ibang pastry shops yung toffee na maging custard like. Yung sa kin kasi rich and sticky.

    choco graham
    marie biscuits
    oreo cookies or anything similar
    pie crust (yung nabibili talaga)

    You can make dulce de leche (tofee) by submerging whole can(label removed) of condensed milk in water inside a pressure cooker. Cooking time is 30 mins only.

    Noong unang panahon, nilalaga sya(whole can) sa kaldero for three hours!

    ty ty ty sa info.... na wierduhan kasi ako sa paglaga ng condensed milk kasama ng lata hehe. Kundi ganun pala talaga un (now i know) First time ko kasi magluluto ng ganito.

    yan din iniisip ko hehe. though submerging a can of milk inside the pressure cooker seems easier. salamat, salamat. sana magawa ko na to soon. :D

    You can put three cans of condensed milk inside the pressure cooker. Syang naman ang apoy kung isang piraso lang. :) Pwede naman yun itago sa ref (it will keep for 2 months sa loob ng ref sice nakalata pa yun). Though you have to increase the cooking time to 40mins kung 3 cans ang iluluto nyo.

    ^I don't know, kasi pag gumagawa ako di naman inaabot ng two months sa ref. Minsan kasi pinapapak lang e... :)

    I use dulce de leche for filling and frosting butter cake. I also use it pang topping sa vanilla ice cream.

    I just finished making 4 large bannofee pies for the noche buena later. Sinabay ko na sa oven habang nagroroast mom ko para sulit gas hehe. 1 1/2 hours submerged yung 4 cans in water sa 200 C oven. First time I tried to cook the milk that way and it turned out pretty well. :)
  • i tried making one kaso hindi naghold yung crust ko. marie biscuits *** gamit ko. kulang ba sa butter pag ganun?
  • actually, ang toffee ata ay yema. so yung procedure to make yema is the same as the one for toffee

    Gumawa ako ng banoffee at patok sya sa mga relatives ko
    masarap daw at ngpapagawa ulit sila this new year naman hehehe

    nga pala, instead n wiping cream ang gamitin ko, ginamit ko na
    lang eh All purpose cream w/c is more cheaper :) ginamitan ko na
    lang ng hand mixer para mas maging floppy.
