Asking God for the Person You Want the Most

Do you think it's alright to pray to God and ask Him to give you a specific person? Has anyone done this and become successful?

My friend told me yesterday about this girl who prayed to God to give her this guy, and after six years, her wish was granted.

Well, we should always pray when it comes to relationship decisions . . . BUT, there is a tendency to overspiritualize things.

Here's what I mean:
If the guy doesn't like you at all or has no attraction to you, praying for him is . . . a waste of your time.

Praying for and focusing on one guy and waiting for him for six years is not a strategy I would recommend. Much better to be open to other possibilities.

In the same way, when men tell me they are praying about a woman, here's my advice: "Find out if she likes you first. If she's not open to the possibility, there's not much point in praying about it."

Well in my case, it's a guy I had a past with. But circumstances forced us to separate.

I think praying for the right person to come along is more feasible not a particular guy.

But I do admit, I pray for me boyfriend but we are together so I guess there is a difference.

God may not give what you want, but I believe what He will give you is something that will make you better and happier.

oo naman! kasi ako i consider God as my bestfriend... kaya lahat ng desires ng heart ko sinasabi ko sa kanya... including crushes ko... the guy na gusto kong pakasalan... maganda sabihin mo talaga kay God... kasi matalino naman si God pag binigay nya sayo like yung nangyari sa friend mo... ibig sabihin makakabuti para sa kanya... pag d binigay ibig sabihin hindi makakabuti...

yeah,for me it's ok to pray for the particular person dat u want to have.i mean there's nothing wrong with it,it's sort of an outlet of your emotions wen ure talking with God.And if you find yourself inlove and happy with some1 else 1 day, then that means God really prepared the 1 for you*okay*:)

Yes, I believe that a good and desirable spouse is given by God to those who seek and deserve it. I've been praying for the right man as well to come into my life and I know that my husband is my "one" because he was the man I've been hoping for. It doesn't hurt to pray for the one you want. With fervent prayers, I know God will deliver the partner suitable for you.

hmm opinion ko lang talaga God doesnt meddle with things such as love and relationships. All those sweet moments and breakups, its a combination of luck and your personal effort hehe diba nga God doesnt meddle with free will

God answer all our prayers but of course everything has its own and purpose...

i believe so...God knows everything about us...even the bad things that happened to us, God can make it good. i know coz it happened to me many times...i trust God that He'll give me only the best..and besides, i want His will and not mine....if ever prang he's not answering my prayer, i know He's still there no matter how i feel..basta trust lang..ksi lahat ng nangyayari sa atin part yon ng pag mold nya sa atin to be the best...even those little and non sense things, part yon....

Maybe God's a good matchmaker. When you start praying and asking Him to give you a certain person, maybe He'll study if you're truly for each other. Then maybe He'll give you that person. But if the guy's not for you, maybe He'll pair you up with a person with whom you could be happier.

my mother says that she prayed to st. jude and due to that she got my dad. then i said, kawawa naman si daddy, he didn't pray to st. jude.

back to topic:

kasi ako dati when my ex bf and I broke up naloka ako, as in i prayed all the prayers I could find. as in i did the novenas, the simbang gabi praying and wishing na magkabalikan kami pero wala. when i realized na its not going to happend I started to pray for strength to accept that its not going to that there is someone else who deserved me better. and here I am completely moved on from that with someone else. HEHE and then about end of the year last year the ex wants me back. TOO EFFIN LATE MAN.

Also I prayed for the guy I am with now. I prayed na he will be the person who can stand me and my sh!t because God knows how I can get sometimes. I prayed for him too even if I havent met him yet.

been there.. done that.. it's ok, but it's not recommended... believe me.. masaket siya.. parang unti unti mong pinapatay sarili mo.. by waiting for noone.. hanggang kelan ka magdadasal for that specific person.. what if God's answer is NO?

kasi parang in a way aasa ka e.. that a miracle would happen and one day he'll realize na he loves you too.. e what if he doesnt love you the way you do?

you can always tell God what you feel and how you feel.. but you can never dictate.. He knows the best for us..

Basta remember.. He gives you what you need, not what you want.

i've been there too. i prayed for my ex bf because i want him back. it's hard because no matter how i deny it, deep inside my heart i'm still hoping that God will answer my prayer.

but i guess God wants me to move on... so i am praying to accept things i cannot change and i believe its His will whatever i am going through.

before i met my ex pla, i prayed for him. i wasn't specific na i hope "c ex" yung bigay Nya sken instead i prayed na sana ganito yung qualities ng magiging bf ko. i've been specific with how i want my bf to be at karamihan nga nung qualities na pinag pray ko eh nsa kanya.

Not all prayers are answered. He says yes/no/wait but be patient ehough coz God knows our hearts' desires. He knows what we deserve and what's good for us. He listens to what our heart says.

well, as for me, i believe God gave me my hubby..even after we separated about 3 or more years ago, God still made a way to bring us back together, we still remained in touch and still had that love for each other, no one has ever loved me like my hubby has, and vice versa.

and yes, i prayed for God to send him to me..about 7 yrs ago hehe.Somehow u'll know that person was meant for u..
