TV and Print Ads of "2010 Aspirants" - What do you think?

As Miriam Defensor-Santiago pointed out, sino ba ang niloloko nila na hanapbuhay at dagdag-kita lamang lahat ito? Of course, I also don't buy the "public service" reason. Heck, even one of them endorsed a whitening capsule brand that is allegedly cheating on the content of their capsules being sold in the market.

  • there should be a law prohibiting elected govt officials and govt officials from appearing in tv ads for products and services. this is inviting conflict of interest issues if not now, then in the future. our law makers and govt officials are supposed to be fair and objective, appearing in a company's ad makes that impossible.
  • did you notice in the ad that mar roxas never mentioned or touched tide?

i don't know kung nasa batas or something, but i heard somewhere that public officials appearing on tvcs cannot touch or say the name of the brand. i may be wrong. i dont know exactly. or internal ruling lang ata yun ng company. ewan ko. (chiz and circulan - ???)

  • all of them a sorry waste of multimedia talent which could be used for other things... like a Pinoy Cannes candidate movie that doesn't have any gay or naked characters in it

the truth is... yep, they are in a way doing their campaign early on..

pero those ones na nag cocomplain, are really, just inggit about it. dahil sila they're not able to do the same 'early campaign'.

let's face it, kung mayroon lang silang product na iniendorse, they'd appeard on tv spots alot din.

    that is fact.

    pakidagdag yung mga ads nina:

    * Manny Villar (yung may mga OFWs in trouble na tinulungan daw niya na makauwi dito)
    * Pia Cayetano (sabong panlaba... Ariel yata)
    * Vilma Santos (saksakan ng dami)
    * Kiko Pangilinan
    * Noli De Castro

It is called as most of us know a CONFLICT of interest. What stinks is the get free services that you will NOT see on their earnings statements as income and FACE time in the process. Chiznoid, Ping, Loren, Villar just to name a few. Political perks while lying to BIR and us.
  • the advertising board or "adboard" should not allow this kind of advertisement on tv.
  • It's really annoying how they can use each and every opportunity for them to be seen by the public. They were not product endorsers before. I don't know why some of them had a congratulatory message to graduates last march when they were not doing that in so many years of their "service to the public". It's just not natural for them to become environmentalists and advocates of OFWs because election is coming near.

They are doing a disservice to the people with their acts. They are just showing that what they are doing in the respective posts are not their duties as public officials but their own campaigns which will benefit their personal political interests. I wonder if they could really win because of their advertisements.
  • ^anyone can run a print ad congratulating anyone. as long as hindi pera ng bayan ang ginagamit.

...but yeah. nakakasuka nga yun! hehe...
  • It is soo frustrating that our politicos behave the way they do.. wala na ba talagang sense of propriety or delicadeza sila?

Villar's and Legarda's adds are sooo obvious, and they are lying through their noses if they say that the ads have nothing to do with their political preparations..

Ditto for roxas' et al.. lacson's contention that his ads are product endorsements might sound better-- and i agree that contrary to the others', his ads are really just commercials "pang-artista"-- but then, he is allowing himself for possible conflict of interest in the future, and he could not just brush it off by saying he'd inhibit himself. if so, his contribution as a senator then will be wasted... when he is expected by his MANDATE to perform as a senator at all times..

and, more grievously, ONLI IN THE PILIPINS is it happening that DEPARTMENT SECRETARIES assume prominent public (clearly political) personas by appearing for their respective department's public service ads! why are they doing this?? .. it's clear that they are using public money-- in the guise of PSAs-- to make themselves known, when, in fact, they should just behave the technocrats that they're supposed to be!

TV Ad of Binay is quite obvious na POLITICKING.
  • BusilakBusilak PEx Influencer ⭐⭐⭐
Buti na lang, may remote control. But you can't escape Binay's, he advertises in movie theaters.

Well, viewers' loss is the networks' gain.

Sacrilege! There must be gay and noodz in our art films! And also a young boy that will serve as a comic relief!
  • The advertisements are really annoying, disgusting, disappointing and to a certain extent, discouraging. We all know that such should not be aired in the first place because they are electioneering stuff. All of them are part of their political propaganda in time for 2010 campaign which should not be allowed. But we could not contain them because they are paid advertisements.

Somehow we just try to avoid these paid advertisements because we could not do anything about it. But I hope they will made us realize that these advertisements are just paid and should be taken for granted, at the very least.
