That is too hard to answer because there are thousands of hotels in Beijing.

I suggest you go to Tripadvisor and see which among the best hotels you can afford.

I am having second thoughts about availing of a package tour for Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace.

I want to go to these places at our own pace, BUT I know tour guides can explain their history. I am actually thinking of DIY and walk side by side with small tour groups for FREE guide. :glee:

    What do you think guys?

@commoner: okies, will do check tripadvisor. thanks! and nice nung mga tape measures, how much yung ganun? nakakaaliw! and you mentioned that winter is less colder and shorter this year, anung level ng coldness ang pede namin expect if we're traveling to beijing ng mar 4-7? do we still need mittens and stuff or normal jackets will do?

By all means you can opt not to get a tour. I suggest you start from Tiananmen, then next yung part ng Forbidden City na may malaking photo ni Chairman Mao. Hehe.

Then, lalabasan mo pala yung garden na may old tree na nakapicture sa taas ng page na ito, then you'll end up sa may gate facing yung Jingshan Park, if I remember correctly. Pwede mo din kasi itong puntahan.

I'll definitely go back to Beijing and I'll do the tour on my own kasi more or less I know na where to start and how to go about my way sa mga sites. May working knowledge na ba, although for sure, maliligaw-ligaw pa rin ako.

10RMB lang, or P70 each. Very cheap. Sa mall mas mahal.

You probably have to wait until mid or end of February for a more accurate forecast for the 1st week of March. Too early to tell.

Hi peeps, pacomment naman kung okay yung itinerary at saka kung okay lang yung magiging phase..ayaw ko namang magmadali sa bawat lugar na pupuntahan..

    Day1
Tian An Men Square (8:30 AM)
    Forbidden City
    Lunch
Temple of Heaven (1pm to 2:30pm)
Tian Yi Market (3:00 to 5:30)
    Dinner
    The Egg

Day2 (rented a car and driver)
Mutianyu (morning leave hotel by 7am)
    Lunch
    Summer Palace
    Botanical Garden
    Dinner
    Olympic Park

Magkalayo ba o magkalapit lang yung Old Summer Palace at New Summer Palace?

    Thanks.

Kaya sa kaya pero baka nakakapagod. Magkalapit lang yung dalawa.

I see...thanks for your comment commoner! If I take out Temple of Heaven (Day1) and Botanical Garden (Day2) mas okay na ba yung phase? Or anu yung masusuggest mo na ialis dun sa itinerary, we still have Day3 pa naman so pwedeng dun ko na ilagay yung aalisin ko. Thanks again!
  • commonercommoner Honorary Member ✭✭✭✭
Do you also have a whole day for Day 3?

Day 1 is possible to do naman, but if you end Temple of Heaven late in the afternoon, you can move Tianyi to Day 3. Pwede ka rin mag Wangfujing and/or Qianmen sa gabi kasi malapit na sa The Egg yun.

I haven't been to the botanical garden but i'm not a big fan of flowers/plants kaya i will take it out if you run out of time.
  • emememem Member ✭✭✭
Yup will have the whole day of Day3. Thanks again for the advise. Will take out Botanical Garden since yung ibang kasama ko hindi rin masyado gusto yun and instead punta nalang kami sa Houhai after olympic park. Thanks!

Nakita ko sa Beijing thread sa Tripadvisor. 780 RMB rent going to GW saka dun sa mga places na nilagay ko. Meron din dun guide na merong kotse kaya lang mas mahal.

Last March was colder than usual but normally it's not as cold as December to February.

Thanks for all the replies we an't decide if to push it in March or april as we are not sure if we can tolerate the cool weater. How about april?
