atm problem

RCBC or BDO

Just want to share some ideas with you about this situation, you mentioned that nawala yung wallet niya with atm inside the wallet. yes, tama yung you informed the bank about the lost of your atm para ma de-activate yung stolen atm, so that even though those thieves knows your pin, they can't withdraw from your account, pero di talaga sagutin ng bank kung nagkaroon ng withdrawal from the atm account by the time it was lost and has not been reported to the bank during the time frame the atm was lost. siguro, yung nakapulot nung wallet may nakitang notes sa wallet or yung pin code nakasulat mismo sa atm card kaya nakapag withdraw. Here are some advices to protect your atm card:

    1. Never write your pin code on your atm card - madaming ganyang tao, sinusulat ang code sa atm para di daw malimutan. kung yun ang dahilan kung bakit mo sinusulat - you are very wrong. Now, if you forgot your pin, the best way to do is to contact your bank's branch of account to reset your password.

    2. Never write or input your pin code in any form medias: Paper, laptop, pc, organizer, etc.. Isaulo mo na lang. Pag di na maalala, contact your bank to reset your password.

    3. Never nominate your pin code the same as your birthday - what if your wallet has been stolen and your wallet contains your important ids like sss, driver's license, prc, etc., which indicates your birthday. Ang magnanakaw, tuso yan, now that if he/she saw your atm in your wallet, they'll try to attempt to use your birthdates as your pin. As a result, they'll be able to withdraw from the machine.

    4. Never entrust your atm to anybody - even to your family. As much as possible, kung nakalakad pa naman kayo and you can do atm transactions, huwag mo ipa-asa sa iba ang pag transact sa atm.

    5. Make sure your surroundings are safe before making withdawals.

    6. Always keep an eye on your card, especially when you are doing purchases. atm these days can be used in purchases in most of the establishments. So whoever took your card (i.e. cashier), never let your atm card out of your sight.

    7. Sign your atms at the signature area. Maraming tao na may atm ignores on signing their atm card. for your security, sign your atm upon receiving it. make sure yung signature niyo sa card is the same sa signature you fill out sa signature cards upon opening an account.

Ito lang ang some tips for your protection guys. Take time to read the atm guidelines upon receiving your atm. As an atm account holder, you are responsible in protecting your own atm. As a rule, whether you are the account holder of that atm or not, as long as the pin code entry matches with the system, cash in the machine will pop out. Bank in anyway will not be liable in regards to this matter....

Marami na talagang nagkaproblema regarding stolen ATM cards at nawala yung pera. Even if ini-report mo agad siya as stolen pero naunahan ka ng withdraw ng nagnakaw (posible kasi na ilang oras na ang lumipas bago nadiskubre ang theft), there's really nothing you can do to recover your money, unless mahuli mo yung magnanakaw (at makutusan). Pero wag mo nang asahan na ibabalik ng bangko yung pera, because they have no legal obligation to do so.

I suggest you file a formal complaint sa head office ng bangko regarding the manager's attitude para madisiplina nila. As to the stolen ATM card and money lost, well, charge it to experience.

    Maraming salamat.

There are some bank managers who are 'stupid' to respond to the client. In fact, they should set a good role model sa bank.

:) ung dun s tips, yup, my pin is not a set of numbers that anyone would know kc very personal, not even my family can guess it and I did write it in my cellphone but it was encoded lolz. tsaka buti na lng d p ko nakaka-experience ng ganito (knock on wood). I just want to tackle it here coz I hope that local banks someday will realize that they need to upgrade their systems coz they're dealing with an individual's hard -earned money.

got some info (time-frames) from her (m cousin), she said that she lost her wallet during her shift (night). After work, she immediately went to the bank (even before it opened). She was inside the bank at exactly 9 but of course there are other people in line so it took around 30 minutes before they confirmed that the card was cancelled. d ba ibig sabihin nun dapat wla ng makaka-withdraw sa card after ng time na un? these time frames were just estimate kc ayaw pakita sa kanya nung personnel ung paper kung saan nakalista ung exact time frames ng mga transactions... pwde ba ung ganun? sabi ko nga sa kanya, pwede nyang sabhin dun s kausap nya na pwede nyang idemanda cla, (khit d ako sure lolz, pero hindi ba bawal un?)

It can form part of the documentary evidence na merong ngang pagnanakaw na nangyari.

Anyway, I suggest he files a formal complaint through the PDIC website. He can do it online at http://www.pdic.gov.ph/index.php?complaint=1 or he can send an email to PDIC's Depositors Assistance Bureau (DAB@pdic.gov.ph).
