A Question to Thomasians (chill KD...)

you all know about the Lozada furor going on at the moment. earlier someone said the mild and meek engineer is a Thomasain. let's assume that's true.

now look at it this way: lozada was forcibly taken by armed men and held incommunicado for a short while. one can only speculate what would have happened to him had the mood of his abductors (and his abductors' bosses) had been different. it is safe to say the timely actions of some concerened people in other branches of the government saved his bacon. all branches of the armed forces are disowning the abduction. but his troubles are only starting. the main power group is doing all it can to smear his name and ridicule him as a person, quite the opposite of what he really is: a competent engineer who has overseen the planning and development of several crucial government projects.

with all that, how would you act if, let's say, the AFP chief of staff were to make an official visit to your campus? should he be accorded respect due to the highest-ranking soldier in the land, or should students line up with egg trays ready?

Hmm interesting. Very interesting despite your evident malicious intent.

Of course, we, Thomasians, will still act in a dignified and well-mannered way. We will welcome him politely, regardles of his faults. We are not on his(AFP chief of staff) side, but is of course, supporting the person who seems to have really imbibed the true spirit of a Thomasian, Jun Lozada. A dignified man who always seeks the truth. A chief of staff is still a person of authority and still deserves to be treated properly. Same goes with PGMA or her husband. Though, of course, we could question their deeds in a constitutional action.

    As simple as that. :)

Background: I am a Thomasian, a political science graduate, i had been to numerous 'rallies' and protest actions during my university years, ranging from the trivial to the very hot issues.

Yet my answer to your question is: "he be accorded respect".
  • We're not upians, we're Thomasians, ergo, we give due respect to anyone who visits our campus regardless of what he/they allegedly did to Lozada.

    :p

We will still give due accord to any figure that visits UST.

  • Kahit sinong bisita pa 'yan, UST would still treat the guest with respect.
  • Amen to all. Everyone deserves respect.
