Mexican Visa

Hi! Anyone here who had an experience of applying for a Mexican Visa (Tourist)? Is it true that since there's no direct flight from Manila to Cancun, Mexico you need to have a Canadian, US, or European Transit visa stamped in your passport..

Any inputs will be appreciated. :) Thanks.

surprising nga eh, na walang direct flight to mexico itself (di lang to cancun). kaya yeah, kailangan mo ng transit visa to canada, us or europe. i really can't remember anymore kung kailangan may transit visa ka na before you go to the mexican embassy. if i remember correctly, kailangan meron na. anyway, pwede kang tumawag sa mexican embassy. madali naman maka-connect at mabait naman sila, at walang bayad nung inquiry :)

    good luck!
  • Thanks ubermensch for the reply and the pm :) though mahirap, I hope still hope I get there to Cancun :)

I'll post here my reply to your PM. i only sent that PM in case you forget to check this thread.

Yes, before I went to the Mexican Embassy, I went first to the US Embassy to get my transit visa.

And one other thing. I'd suggest that you inquire now with travel agencies regarding your itinerary. Kasi if I remember correctly, some travel agencies won't sell you a ticket going to the US nang walang US Visa. Tapos if I remember correctly naman, you need to present a plane ticket to Mexico before the Mexican Embassy gives you your visa. So parang ang lumalabas, ganito ang steps
    1. US Transit Visa - C1 yata
    3. Mexican Visa

Kausapin mo rin nung travel agency mo kasi mas recent nung maibibigay nilang advice. Nung 2005 pa kasi ako kumuha ng Mexican visa.
  • ^Thanks! Thanks! Very helpful to. :)

Totoo bang you no longer need a Mexican visa to tour Mexico if you have a US visa?

Can anyone confirm this?
  • Filipinos who are intending to visit Mexico should have a valid Philippine passport and visa. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your expected exit from the country.

...Only if you enter Mexico from the United States, of course. Not from any other country.
  • I was able to enter M?xico from Canada and Guatemala last year. Or probably if you are coming from the Philippines that you're only allowed to enter M?xico via the US.

    :)

according here, it is not necessarily that you should come from the US.

^ Ok then. It's just weird that the Mexican Embassy in the Philippines (the link you provided first) mentions that one has to come from the U.S, but the Mexican Embassy in the UK (your second link) mentions it's not necessary. :)

    :)

^ Siguro nga ganoon yung logic ng embajada dito. :p

Was checking into this thread because I might be taking a cruise into Mexico from the US. Great, spares me the whole visa application hell.

    :)
  • Yes, no need for a Mexico visa, if you are coming from the US and has a valid US visa of course.

    :):)
  • Hi! Do we have thread here on Mexico tourism, particularly Cancun? Daan sana kami dun coming from California.

    :)
  • ah ganto pala pag kukuha ng mexican visa.
  • I have experience on other visas such as autralian visa but with mexican not yet, however, my friends told me that it is just easy to obtain it. :)
