Tips?
Replace the CVT fluid regularly. The manual should have a schedule for that.0 -
the 2002 lancer's a cvt. k lang.. drive is smooth and quiet.. pero acceleration isn't very good.
but the 2008 lancer could be 1.8 liters. and that might cure the power issue.0 -
I test-drove a Jazz 1.5 with CVT a year and a half ago. Manual mode's responsive enough, but there's still a tinge of what the Americans call "motorboat syndrome." You floor the pedal, the engine gets noisy, but the road speed just climbs at a steady rate as the CVT's computer works out the ratios of the drive pulleys.
Compared to traditional torque-converter automatics, CVTs sap less power in their operation...but they're still no match for a proper manual gearbox.
My two cents0 -
Drove my friend's 2007 Honda City 1.3 AT(CVT), gear change is smooth as silk, more than satisfying acceleration, superb fuel economy. Had to teach how to drive, impulsive buyer, bumili ng car pero hindi cya marunong mag-drive. What I hate though is the car's styling. But it terms of the tranmission, two thumbs up for the CVT, parang ayaw ko na mag-drive ng stick.0
