subwoofer is the only speaker you can use a different brand with the main speakers.

approximate price for the setup is about 150,000. and that's with a 2+1 amplifier (fronts and subs only) and 2 front speakers and the sub and the HU.

this from a Guy who owns a pair of Energy Veritas speakers. and anthem amplifiers. what brand are they, you ask?

ASK an AUDIOPHILE, and they'd go, "Z0mg!! That is teh 1337 setupz!"

The guys at Kotse Audio Club will be the first to tell you: Wala sa brand yan.

Taste in audio is very subjective, what is garbage for one may be ideal for another.

For best results try to listen to or "audition" other people's setups and see if it tickles your fancy. After all it's you who's going to be listening to your sound system, so it has to satisfy your aural preference first and foremost.

All other people can do is give suggestions and tell you more technical details, such as how to power your sub and speakers effectively, or how to place your speakers for effective sound imaging. But that ain't worth jack if it doesn't sound nice to your ears.

By the way since this thread seems to be about brand snobbery you left out a lot of brands that are just as respected...in some cases they're even more sought-after.

Blaupunkt, i cant deny the good ness of that. they mde the frist car radio, and they continue to make the best car head units.

pero kicker and rockford, they're mostly nothing but crappy subs aimed for the ricer/ hip hop markt.

Mahal nga lang head units ng Blaupunkt especially if you're after their better features. Their USB-capable HU costs a whopping PhP30,000.

If USB capability is a big-ticket item for you, you can get equivalent HUs from other makers for a third of that price.
