I'm planning to buy a new car. I don't know if I should wait for the New 1.5 Vios which will be launch on July 12 with no price yet or the New 1.5 City with minor mod and a 745K less 10K tag price if purchased before end of July or 1.5 Jazz or you have any other suggestion. Guys please help. Thanks.

Since you're already in the 700k price range, you might also want to consider the honda civic 1.8v, konti nalang idadagdag mo sa price ng new city0

actually ang iniisip ko sa civic 1.8V baka mashadong expensive yung maintenance. chaka medyo malaki rin difference nung matic. prefered ko kasi matic na matipid sa gas.. If you will ask me why not 1.3L version, kailangan ko po kasi ng dual airbag and ABS kasi requirement po cya para sa subsidized company car loan.

I am also planning to get a car which is automatic also. As of now my choice is the city, there is an increase in the price from 2006 model, may minor changes kasi na ginawa. Yung jazz kasi still 2006 model baka 2008 pa maglabas ng bagogn jazz. Ang bagong vios naman may price increase din kasi nga total make over yata ang ginawa, so baka medyo mataas ang price increase. The 1.5 2006 vios is 722k automatic, baka umabot pa ng close to 800k ang bagong vios nyan na matic.0

Xymoza, i actualy considerd d city 1.5 cvt and d yaris b4 finaly deciding on d civic manual trans. I think havin steering wheel mounted shift controls is a big plus over d standard auto shifter of d toyota (no offense to toyota owners) and the cvt also has more gears to play with
Gud luck to you and guy101 on your future purchase. Hope you can post pics of your new rides soon

Thanks for all your reply. I guess, I'll wait for the "new" city and new vios next week and I'll try if I can arrange a test drive for the 2 cars then I will decide which one is better for me and then I'll wait again until the price of the new vios becomes available then I will decide again which of the two is more affordable considering their features.Xymoza, i actualy considerd d city 1.5 cvt and d yaris b4 finaly deciding on d civic manual trans.
biglang_liko, is it worth the upgrade? by the way what version of civic? and does it have a dual airbag and abs? Thanks.0 -

When I made my purchase the city 1.5CVT was 740k with 15k discount ata, the civic 1.8v manual was 777k. Considering that for the extra 52k pesos you get an extra 100k pogi points, i'd say it was worth it, haha.
Seriously, I felt the civic was a bargain considering that it has the same performance level (200kph+ top speed) as the 1.8 altis g ang 2.0 mazda 3 which both cost around 1m.
The civic is also a class higher (compact) than the city and vios/yaris (subcompacts). Pero basic model lang civic ko with no safety features like abs, ebd, srs etc and manual lang, ulike the city 1.5 cvt na fully loaded.
Whichever model you decide to buy, just remember that buying a car is just like falling in love... nasa huli ang pagsisisi..joke,joke0 -
Well I havent actually tried going over 200 but i did reach 191 with the rpms at only around 5000 in 5th. I'll try it next time I'm at the nlex and take a pic of the speedometer.
it's a JAPANESE COMPACT SEDAN.
it'd be over achieving already if it get 180 kph, diba?0 -

Yes its just your basic everyday sedan, but the 191kph speed i mentioned is something i experienced first hand, and i was just as surprised to find out it could reach that speed. I was even more surprised to find a pic of a speedometer showing 203kph at the teamfd (http/:teamfd.com.ph) website (new civic owners club) but that's probabably a 2-liter civic.
In any case I mentioned the speed only as a matter of reference coz xymoza asked me if i felt paying the extra cash for the civic was worth it.0 -
