Yah. it's Good. pero just pay out a bit more and just get a 1.8V na Civic, but that's IMO.
bigger car is always better.0 -
My ride comes with the 1.3L engine, but I've driven a 1.5L with CVT.
Don't be fooled by the small exterior size, it's very roomy inside...even before you play around with the folding seats. It'll take some getting used to because of the low-effort steering and somewhat spongy brake pedal, but when you do it's a great car to drive.
My only beef with the Jazz is subpar visibility (A- and D-pillars are rather thick) and low ride height by default. This car doesn't like tall humps.0 -
Overall the Jazz is a nice and spacious car (space is at par with the Altis). Most get the 1.3L version though as the main drive is the fuel economy... if you're getting the 1.5L version then that puts you within the territory of the Civic 1.8L V, Altis J and E (which has a 50K discount right now).
Some people complained about the rear suspension being thrashy but i have not had enough experience with this car to confirm it. Is it true?0 -
Frankly I don't have any qualms with the ride quality.
From what I've heard, some people find the Jazz's ride leaning on the stiff side. Perhaps this was necessary due to the tall body and the need for sufficient body control (it's trickier to tune the suspensions of taller cars).
The newer facelifted Jazzes have better audio head units now. The 1.3 versions have a Kenwood that plays MP3/WMA files, and the 1.5 versions get an Alpine unit with the aforementioned iPod dongle. (My pre-facelift Jazz got a very basic Kenwood HU...I replaced it with a Pioneer one when it quit reading CDs.)
If you're an aftermarket junkie, one caveat with the CVT versions is you can't just replace the steering wheel with something else you like. You'll lose the shift switches for the CVT's manual mode. I have yet to hear a workaround for this.0 -
Thanks for the replies. The 1.5 jazz is the sports version (stiffer suspension) while the 1.3 is designed for casual city driving ( hence the softer suspension). I'm thinking also of getting the 1.8 civic (+50,000 more), but i have a thing for hatchbacks. Also, the 1.5 jazz is fully loaded with neat features. So i think, I'll go with the 1.5 matic jazz.=)0

I've driven both back-to-back. The suspensions are tuned the same way. Any difference in stiffness is marginal at most.
They even share the same slow damper rebound rate that can snag your underside over tall humps you negotiate too quickly.0 -
To get more information, I suggest you visit some Honda Fit/Jazz forums.

As Shun said, the suspension is the same; chances are the ride is somewhat firmer due to the 15" rim set-up of the 1.5L version (vs. the 14" set-up of the 1300).0 -

i drive a 1.3 CVT jazz. its a great car, perfect for city driving. its fun to drive, easy to park, very very fuel efficient. The jazz 1.5 is great for modifications, and can be made into a good pocket rocket if you have the cash. Even with the small price difference with the base civic, a jazz 1.5 is better if you have only 1 or 2 passengers or a lone driver.
A lot of people say that the suspension is harsh but its just perfect for a spirited drive.
Hatchback rules in small roads and spaces. *peace*0 -
The suspension tuning actually makes the Jazz a good car for high-speed cornering out of the showroom.
Often on empty roads I challenge myself by driving my Jazz quickly, but not by being heavy on the gas. To do that, you accelerate gradually and maintain your speed---and the suspension helps a lot. There's a good 15-20 km/h difference in how much speed I can carry through an off-ramp over my old City without straying from my lane.
The 1.5L Jazz has more straight-line oomph over the 1.3 at high speed---you'll notice this clearly on the NLEX where 140+ km/h runs are no problem. In most real-world city driving situations however, the 1.3 wins out because of its torque peak at a much lower RPM. It may not be FAST, but it's QUICK.0 -

I read someone at Honda Club Philippines who replaced his with paddle-type shifters. It was a DIY project though.0
