according to the papers 17km/L mixed but htats with a 800cc engine
the Hynudai Getz and Kia Picanto has higher figure around 18km/L and thats with a 1.1L engine. But real world experience will decide wether it is economical.

di ba mahihirapan ang 800cc pag may sakay ka na? ok ang alto pang-araw araw biyaheng QC to Makati.
  • vios can reach 18km/l city driving.

pero syempre nasa pag mamaneho rin yan

lahat naman tayo nang-gigigil sa silinyador e hahaha
  • slamm
    slamm runnin on empty
The Isuzu Crosswind m/t is also efficient in the AUV category.
  • Don't forget the honda city. And AFAIK, mas matipid pa ang hyundai accent kaysa sa getz even though it's bigger. Also, I don't think Chvrolets are really that economical.

My dad, who is quite heavy on the pedal, gets 15 km/l without really trying on his CRDi Hyundai Matrix. I get 12km/l on my Honda City 1.5 VTEC Manual. These are both city driving scenarios.

That;s true. there really isn't any real economical Chevrolet. The specification they release in the brochure can be misleading and false when it comes to real world driving.

Disclaimer: I've got an aggressive driving style.

The best I've done is 14.4 km/L on my Jazz 1.3 manual. I flogged it really hard once, and it still returned 11.7 km/L. That's all city driving, folks. People say the CVT will get you longer distances per fillup.

A point of comparison: My old City 1.5 struggles to make 10.5 km/L.

More important than the car though is the DRIVER. If you drive like a madman 24/7, are abrupt on the brakes and sudden with your steering inputs, don't expect to save fuel regardless of your ride. That's how I managed a pathetic 5.5 km/L on an old 1.6 Corolla that would otherwise get 8.5.

    An update on the Jazz:
I pushed it on both directions of the NLEX this afternoon. After 141.8 kilometers of high-speed driving and overtaking, I burned just 5.06 liters of 93-octane fuel.

Do the math and you'll see the Jazz returned 28.024 km/L. :D

lol. i average 6km/lit on my 1.6 lancer glxi turbo charged engine. medyo masakit sa bulsa. mga 125 a a day sya q-ave to makati-ave papunta pabalik. pag 86 camaro Z28. yang ang efficient na car. efficient sa bulsa. ubos palagi ang bulsa kaya magaan ang wallet mo. lol. sa Z28, 400 a day. :D

I think crosswind is the most effiecient as compare to their counterparts (revo, adventure, etc).

I average around 12km/l for normal city driving.
  • Audi adds 1.9 TDI e to European A4 lineup

Audi is adding another diesel model to their compact A4 lineup in Europe with the 1.9 TDI e. The new 1.9L diesel has 115 hp and can get the A4 up to 62 mph in just over 11 seconds. More importantly, it can go over 45 miles on every US gallon of diesel while only emitting 137 g of CO2 per km. The efficient engine is combined with a wide-ratio six speed gearbox that helps keep the engine spinning as slow as possible. Audi also trimmed the weight of the new model with items like an aluminum hood along, low rolling resistance tires and aero tweaks. The TDI e is available as either a sedan or wagon and starts at €28,300.

    A clean best-seller
    Ingolstadt, 2 May 2007
    Audi A4 1.9 TDI e – only 5.2 l diesel / 100 km and 137 g CO2 / km

Audi is extending its highest-volume model series, the Audi A4, adding two new, particularly efficient models. With an output of 115 bhp, the A4 1.9 TDI e, available as a saloon and as an Avant, offers powerful propulsion and high efficiency. The A4 1.9 TDI e accelerates to 100 km/h in just 11.2 seconds and on up to a maximum speed of 201 km/h, which makes its fuel consumption data all the most astonishing. Indeed, the A4 1.9 TDI e saloon with a manual 6-speed gearbox requires just 5.2 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres and emits merely 137 g CO2 / km.

State-of-the-art TDI engine technology and an array of features enable the driver to make even more efficient use of fuel. The best example is the gearshift display. Located in the instrument cluster in the driver's central line of vision, it indicates the best time to move up or down to the next gear, depending on the given situation. In terms of consumption in particular, it is important that the driver takes full advantage of the vehicle's potential. The new gearshift display provides valuable information to ensure a fuel-saving driving style.

The A4 furthermore has markedly high transmission ratios for gears 3 to 6, which contribute to lower fuel consumption. The engine electronics too are engineered for economy. With various weight-reduction measures, including the aluminium bonnet and low-rolling-resistance tyres in size 205/55 R16, in addition to aerodynamic features – such as the saloon's integrated S line rear spoiler – the A4 1.9 TDIe is highly compatible with everyday use and offers particularly economical mobility.

Following the success of the A3 1.9 TDI e, Audi is now applying this integral efficiency concept in a second high-volume model series. The basic price of the A4 1.9 TDI e is € 28.300. The A4 2.0 TFSI e is also available.

Hmm. That seems kinda low for a 1.6 -- even with turbo. Mabigat din siguro paa niyo?

Kung madalas ang gamit ng turbo boost, mas malakas din ang konsumo :)
