kasi black is shiny, kaya makikita mo agad alikabok. just clean your car regularly with car shampoo and then wax it every month. i use turtle wax on my van. pro these days, nakakatamad maglinis ng sasakyan kasi palagi ulan.0

Detailing is sort of a hobby for me. I try to learn as much as possible and try to experiment with different products. I don't know your location so I dont know if the products I use are available where you live.
Anyways here's my process:
(1) Wash car using wool mitt and Meguiars NXT car wash
(2) Dry with microfiber towel
(3) Clay bar using Clay Magic
(4) Rinse car just with water and dry
(5) Apply a paint cleaner using Klasse All in One
(6) Seal with Klasse Sealant glaze or Poorboys EX - I do 2 applications
(7) Wax with carnauba. I prefer using S100
The whole process above will take you about 4-6 hours depending on your speed. I usually do it in two days. First day is steps 1 to 5 then the next day steps 6 and 7. You could do all the steps by hand but if you have an orbital buffer, you'll get better results with less effort. In my experience, the protection and shine will last 3-4 months.
BTW, after doing the above, you could also do a weekly wash depending on the dust or dirt that accumulated, then use a quick detailer spray( I use Meguiars NXT quick detail wax) to wax and to add another layer of protection.
Congrats on your new car and keep it clean. Black is a PITA to clean but it looks the best when its all clean and shiny.0 -

i do love the look of a shiny black car.cleaning and maintaining how it looks though, is another.
anyways, paskopaksiw - congrats to your new car. i hope in a month, i would also post here saying that i got my (very first) car.0 -
Wash it 2 to 4 times a month. Bucket wash. Use Meguiars NXT car wash. Do NOT use dishwashing detergent. Wash in the shade. Use towels to avoid water spots. After it dries up, use Meguiar's Quik Detail spray.
I wax every 3 months. I use clay bar + paint cleaner + polish + wax for final coating/protection.
I use only Meguiars products for anything that touches the car's paint. I also use Stoner's Invisible Glass for the windows and mirrors.
For the tires, I use Meguiars insane shine. I don't use anything for the wheels, but I use a different sponge, yung luma na, and non-scratching wirebrush. Do NOT use the same sponge for washing wheels and the car's body.0 -
what's with meguiars product. okay ba talaga itong pang-wash and wax ng kotse.??? and what's clay bar and paint cleaner?? thanks accord and taco boy for your input.0

ganda ng black kaso pag nagasgas kitang kita. be gentle when you clean it
pangit na pag nagka swirl marks. enjoy your ride! nothing like the smell of a new car*okay*0 -
Used to have a black car as well...
Just wash properly with the proper materials (running water and a microfibre towel is a must as dirt is the number one scratch element when you wash improperly).
Wax at least once a month with a good wax like Meg or Mothers maybe... I use Meg yellow wax which i buy from the dealer/distributor in Kamias.0 -
SALAMAT NG MARAMI SA MGA REPLY NYO!!!
mukhang maraming gumagamit nung Meguiars.. mga officemates ko rin eh un ang suggestion.. mga magkanu un?
sabi ng dad ko i have to wax the car every other week or every three weeks at the least.. para may protection daw ung car paint.. tska wag ko daw tipidin ung wax.. wala nmn daw kwenta bumili ng mura kung hnd nmn ngbibigay protection sa car..
taco boy, mukhang medyo matrabaho ung ginagawa mo ah hehe.. but i bet your car looks fantastic..
thanks again guys!!0 -
pasko, good luck on your car... basta wag mo lang kakalimutan na mas importante yung prep work than the actual waxing itself. before you apply your wax, make sure na malinis na malinis na yung auto mo... otherwise hindi mag-bobond yung wax sa clear coat at sayang lang ang effort mo..0

Retail outlets like Hans Tools in Shang carries Meg and Mothers. authorized Meg detailing shops also sell them AFAIK. As for me, i get mine direct from Simex Trading (the Meg distibutor) in Kamias Road, Q.C. (near Xavierville)... they sell the products (Meg 3 in 1 and HIgh Tech Yellow Wax) in Ketchup bottles (somewhat cheaper... P280 a pop if i recall right).
DIY detailing is quite satisfying and after a while (2 or 3 DIY wax jobs perhaps?) it won't even take you longer than 15-20 mins to do a quick wax job after washing your regular 4 door sedan.0 -
what about turtle wax? dati maraming gumagamit nito ah.. i wonder what happened.. its cheaper though..0
