  • ^ It depends on the car you drive. If the car manufacturer requires you to use regular then by all means. Pero if the required fuel is premium unleaded then you must use that gas (91 or 93 in the U.S). Using a lower grade fuel than required will lead to decrease performance in your car, decrease in mileage (offsetting any savings) and in the long run will damage your engine. So its not really worth it to use a lower grade fuel.

Precisely, to lulugirl-may teflon ba ang x1r? its slippery pero nag bubuo sa engine in the long run.

By the way, why do you have to put premium in your car? Can't you put regular instead?

the 70c difference of a premium to a regular is worth it.

especially considering that 70c of P43 is not even 2%

AFAIK, premium gasoline has better antiknock qualities compared to regular petrol.

KNOCK=caused by premature burning of gasoline in the combustion chamber it's also what is being referred to as "tope"

You nailed it, notice mas mabilis maubos ang unleaded kasi you step on it more.

Just use what's required by your ride (usually 93 octane but some require 95).

As for me, I used to gas up on Petron XCS but costs are really tight now so i use regular 93 octane and i control my driving style more now and plan my trips well (and head to work early in the AM as there's less traffic and it's cooler)... plus i turn of the a/c compressor switch whenever i accelerate (or dont use the a/c if possible). This has given me the most savings so far (i get around 11-12km/L with my car in the daily grind).

LPG can be done but for now it's usually taxis that have them.

people who can affor premium unleded generally drive more expensive cars thus able to afford the "premium" premium delivers. I put P500 of Xtra in my car everytime the gas gauge signals that i need a refill. no use carrying extra weight around.
  • if you want to save money, walk. The good Lord gave us legs to walk with. :) If walking is too retro a compact oil burner may make more sense.

thing is does your car need something better than 93 RON? If not then you're pissing away money.

Hay. Ako nga sana parang gusto mid-sized SUV for next year kaso baka sa mahal ng gas by then I'll be stuck with a Honda city or Civic Hybrid na lang. Wla naman akong reklamo sa kanila gusto ko lang sana malaki-laki at puwede ipang adventure.

this just came in, "ExxonMobile the US oil giant declared record 2Q profits of US$10.36BILLION (up 36% vs same period last year)".... i tell you the result of the rising oil prices is NOT due to any conflict in an oil producing region BUT BECAUSE OF CORPORATE GREED.:grrr:

The norms right now of how an oil company's future is predicted is based on it's oil reserves (the more you stock up today, the more earnings you'll reap on tomorrow's prices). So as this guys gobble up crude oil, the traders, by law of supply and demand, jacks up price until the next high bid. I really don't see this prices going down in the next 25 years. The only way for it go down is when people stop using it (impossible) or less need (go alternative or use a bike/bicycle).
  • haay naku! mag momotorsiklo nalang muna ako for the meantime.
