best pain relief during labor

hi berryC! what do you mean by plain reliever during labor?

kasi in my case (i gave birth last feb. 25) my ob gyne told me that if nde ko na kaya ang pain il just tell the resident na nagbabantay sa akin to give me anesthesia (epidural). it works like magic, it easily eases the pain pero nde ganun katagal ang effect. long enough naman for you to sleep. kasi i can't sleep while im in labor. kailangan mo kasing magpahinga to prepare for the delivery. 2 beses ako nag request for that una nung mga 4 cm na ako then yung pangalawa is nung mga 6 cm na. almost 17 hrs akong naglabor.
kaya lang masakit yung paglagay ng epidural catheter sa spine area. pero after nun wala na. conscious and alert pa ako habang lumalabas si baby alam ko pa ngang tinatahi na ako pero walang pain talaga.

by the way painless delivery ako.

xiv is correct, i had painless delivery as well the odd side of it is the effect after the delivery ( the recovery period). Compared to natural delivery ( although its really painful ) in three days you'll get to recover with all the pain. With painless delivery( specifically epidural ) you'll experience back pains from time to time specially when its cold season. I dont know if it was trigerred by my scoliosis but up to now im still experiencing severe backpains,to the fact that i gave birth last july 1st of 2004 pa. ( this i sjust my personal experience c",)
