if you can, grab some fine, dry sand and clean water. disassemble your headlight assembly, so it will only be the head light or tail light casing, filll it with sand and water, and shake it. Keep on shaking until clean and clear, let water and sand out. let dry...

I do this but with detergent and cotton balls instead of sand... I first rinse with the detergent then i drain and pyut a little water and the cotton balls then i have the cotton balls roll around the inside.

But the last time I just had Big Berts do it... don't have the time and its a hassle waiting for the lamps to fully dry up.

how much does BigBerts charge for Headlight cleaning?

i availed of the Wax and Wash promo last year. and frequently let them wash my car if i have time to drop by. =)

it's used as the scrubbing material inside, it's just water and sand you can use it if you like. My first impression about it was, it is likely to create abrasions inside the headlight assembly but it didn't. one mechanic told us about that and since it does not cause harm to our headlights, that's what we do. Our headlights by the way are made of glass, I just don't know about plastic headlights, but we've done it in my aunt's car which has a plastic headlamp ***'y, and it's pretty OK, no abrasions whatsoever and as clean as new.
