Welll wala nang "new" old car outside of the Mitsu Pajero fieldmaster still being sold as new.

200K What's your need? sedan? a/t or m/t? fuel efficiency? Power? interior space? etc...

Out of the box, at that range you'll be looking at some mid to late 90's sedans like the Corolla, Sentra, Galant, Civic Esi, etc.

oh okay i thought they're still producing older models..

i'd say i would prefer m/t and as low as possible displacement. other than that, basta may makina at maganda ang takbo, okay na. what would you recommend and san ako pwedeng bumili?

for 200k get a Toyota Corolla GLi. 4afe 16v Efi all power fuel efficient and gives the power when needed. or a Toyota Corolla XE/XL i forgot which model has power steering but its engine is 2E 16V Carb.


if you want a powerful car. get a second hand starlet and place a 4AGE silvertop/blacktop/high-horse engine. project car. pwede na 200k dyan

you can get a decent 92-94 model corolla/sentra/civic for 200k.
a lot of them already come with power steering,locks and windows.

@DJ_yAn, Corolla XE and GLi are the models with power steering

it costs around 140 to 170k. its a decent sedan...4door... tipid sa gas...if you want performance n power, engine swap mu ng 1.3 liter 4afe Turbo tipid na. mabilis pa=)


a Civic esi (EG body)
pag hatch ung kinuha mo... oki lang pang porma=)
if u need more space get the sedan=) around 180k din un=)


kung ako tatanungin mo ...id go for the civic Eg body=)

200K, m/t, and displacement doesnt matter much, then look for a car costing around 150-180K and use the remaining balance to do some repairs and attend to the maintainance needs of the car (which a 2nd hand car will always need).

Some choices i see out in the papers:
- 95 to 96 1.3L Corolla XE
- 97-98 1.3 Sentra LEC (you can get this for 140-170K)
- 1995-1997 1.6 Sentra Super Saloon
- 1993-1995 Civic Esi
- 1990 Corolla GL
- 1993 - 1995 Corolla Gli

For me, the best medium to do car shopping is the Manila Bulletin classifieds on Sundays. This is whre you get the usual market values and maraming points of comparison. Take your time to check out several cars, don't rush on the first one you see. Try to get one from an actual owner...

thanks you guys for all the help! i'm currently looking at this sentra 98 (i'm not sure of the exact model pa), i'll be seeing the unit this weekend. it's 160k and from the pictures, mukhang okay, so i'll see it on saturday. medyo rush kasi ung need eh. thanks guys
