For Honda Owners, Kailangan ba CASA dapat?

Hey guys,

Nasira yung aircon ng CRV ko, so dinala ko sa casa,(but dinala ko muna sya sa mga Denso na aircon specialist, sabi nila electrical problem daw yan at mas mabuti daw na sa casa ko nalang daw dalhin...) so pag dating ko dun, nag mamadali kasi ako so iniwan ko nalang yung kotse ko dun, and expect it baka bukas nalang or saturday, then I recieved a text from them
need to replace blower transistor, 4,200 then evaporator cleaning, 3,500. need to check aircon for leaktest, other recommendation, brakelight both replacement 600, steering tire rod right, 2,500 and alignment 1,650. both damper stopper, 2,500

So is this overkill?

Evaporator cleaning is around Php 600. Leaktest is done using dishwashing detergent and tap water how hard can that be?

Ano papalitan nila pati yung lens?

Suspension components marami sa Cruven at Zee.

Check the Tsikot Workshop Forums for details on these guys.

:bop:

The parts and other stuff, baka justifiable. But P10,000 for oil change lang?

Check first what parts are to be changed for the 60,000 service(baka all filters, fluids, etc...) then do this at your local service shop, you just have to buy all the needed parts and fluids.

On the a/c, what exactly was wrong? You can try with Mang Mario (look for the thread) or if its electrical then maybe a shop like Wizzard or Reys can help.
  • mikedv, would you mind telling us which Honda casa you went to? For the benefit of other motoring pexers. Thanks :)
  • Stealership talaga ang casa. go to independent shops/good mechanics para makita mo pa habang ginagawa nila. Although ok ang service ng honda but the price to pay.. You'll learn & save more if you bring it to a good mechanic & do a lot of research.

I've had less-than-stellar experiences with Honda service centers. If you wanna be on the safe side, sulitin mo na lang warranty mo sa kanila tapos sa labas mo na ipagawa.

Otep is right: evaporator leak testing involves just flushing out the dirt with detergent, and submerging the thing in a tub of water to check for bubbles.

Mura pareho. Rapide will give you service recommendations, but they're too conservative and their opinions can be disproved by other mechanics. Just buy the oil filter and crush washer from the casa, hindi naman mahal yun.
  • i dont recommend Rapide for anything at all. heard a lot of horror stories dyan. im better off in a smaller shop pero kilala mo naman na honest.

^ I just go to Rapide for the oil change. Mura fully-synthetic oil change doon eh.
  • it's better to go to shops who are experts on a particular field (aircon, suspension) compared to "can-do-it-all" shops.
  • masmaganda nga kung me kilala kang home service na mekaniko na u can trust=)

    CASA=HOLDAP

Be wary though that there are still some things with the CASA like recall bulletins (at least the Nissan CASA i went to before informed me on this) and the engine/ECU readers (quite valuable in modern EFI engines, unless you have a shop who has it's own reader and knows what to look for in your vehicle. :)
  • I think Rapide is just as good as the casa but at lower-than-casa prices...The only thing is sometimes they have to order parts and it takes awhile. Worst thing that happened to me at Rapide (Park Square) was I had to leave my car over night. That really pissed me off because I was supposed to go out that night. But usually their services is good and worth it.

They (Rapide) were charging me much more before for a simple bushing swap job then the CASA (this was for my pick-up). The Rapide guy was telling me "kesyo kelangan machine shop, etc..." when i knew all i needed was an impact wrench and a lifter. :bop:

On leaving cars overnight, i read an article on C! Mag before where they caught a service shop (which seemed to be Rapide based on their descriptions... but was never confirmed to the readers) bringing their car on a 160kph joyride to Batangas and wrecking it in the process. The culprit was nabbed because the car had a tracker onboard. :grrr:

  • had similar case with honda cars makati.....we had our 60k preventive maintenance there and they charged us P10,600. ang dami nilang pinalitan na parts na supposed to be sa 80K PM pa dapat palitan....
  • alamin mo kung ano parts kailangan palitan...then go to a reputable auto supply and canvass mo kung magkano sa kanila....medyo malaki rin ang magiging price difference nila. i recommend PEMVIEW auto parts at banawe...3rd store after kitanlad st...the specialize in mitsubishi & honda original and replacement parts.
