from cdo ride ka ng bus going to benone port, from there sakay ka ng ferry to camiguin. madaming pension houses/ resorts dun try mo mag search. you may want to rent a motorbike for like 300 ata whole day na yun for you to be able to tour the entire island. must see yung white island, sand bar sya. make sure you go there early am. ok din yung sunken cemetery, katibawasan falls, ardent hot springs. mura lang dun as it's but a small town. sorry kung medyo vague ha, pero if you've been to bora or any other tourist island spots then i can say na cheaper talaga dto except of course the plane ride. ;)

heto itinerary namin: CDO-Camiguin, btw dont expect beautiful beaches sa camiguin, ang white sand beach lang dun ay yung white island/sandbar na walang nakatira at lumulubog kapag hight tide, reachable via pumpboat for 5-10 minutes

    Day 1:

    Day 2:

    Day 3:

Then White Water River Rafting sa Cagayan De Oro River, 3 hours rafting ito, up to level 3.5 na rapids, the best, sobrang enjoy, adventure, saka sarap!

Pag-uwi pahinga na lang kasi sobrang pagod!

    Day 4:

  • thanks bluewin! very helpful ang post mo well be going kse to CDO nxt wk, kaso with family.... ano ba ok puntahan na di masyado strenous para join din parents :)

via cebu pac, 6:20 am dating namin dun, isip ko kung diretsuhin na namin camiguin, tpos mga lunch balik na kme kinabukasan kse 3d-2n lng trip namin e.... mapupuntahan ba namin sa ganung time ang mga sinabi mo? if not, ano ba mga must-see and must do for that 1.5 days lang?

how long would it take us to see Malasag Eco Park? Nga pala, ano po ok na accom sa CDO at Cam? Ung medyo nasa budget lang po :)

    Thanks!
  • bleuewinbleuewin PEx Veteran ⭐⭐
well sa CDO, half day tour of Malasag, i thnk kaya naman, sa Camiguin, basta you need 1 whole day to tour the Camiguin, magrent kayo ng multicab, 800 lang yun, i guess oks lang ang 3d/2N kung di kayo magrarafting and other eco adventure... btw, maganda nag mall nila dun ha, the Lim Ket kai, dami pa mga cozy na restaurant... heheh!
  • we were in camiguin, cdo & bukidnon last june 10 - 12, 2006 grabe ganda ng camiguin! papunta p lang u can see lots of bundok, that is why its called"island born of fire", cebu pacific fair cost P5378 - roundtrip,fr the airport of cdo to agora market taxis will cost around P200+, bachelor tour bus aircon is [email protected] going to balingoan, fr there ride a motorela [email protected] to bring you to the port, the ferry cost [email protected],1 hour travel by sea you will reach benoni port of camiguin, multicab cost P350 (rent) that will bring you to your chosen place of stay, we stayed at [email protected] fishpen lagoon, the room cost P450 for 2, air-continous its near the port, mahinog town, there are other places like the geckos, paras beach resort, bahay bakasyunan, secret cove, cave beach resort, mostly they are located in mambajao, Half day of june 10 – we start at macao cold spring, (located in mahinog) you can ride a motorela [email protected] going there, no entrance fee, inihaw na saba 2pcs for P2.00, pag- nilamig ka kumain ka muna nun, we stayed for 30mins coz we can’t take the coldness of the spring, so we proceed to mantigue island , (also located in mahinog ) you can see this island near the benoni port, its good for snorkeling, lots of big corals, n starfish, the water is very clear , the boat cost P400.00, tell them to go around the island before they drop u to the shore, the sand is powdery, just like a polvoron, the sand here is also white. Next day we went to white island – ang pinagmamalaki ng camiguin, other than lanzones, the place was awesome, breathtaking, grabe ganda, with the view of mt. hibok hibok, there are cottages for rent P50 – 100 depends what size you will get, go there early in the morning, maybe you can have your breakfast here just bring your own food , then we went to the walkway to the old volcano via cruses, from here you can buy souvenirs, then tabi tabi na yan sunken cemetery, you can ride a boat to get near the landmark of the sunken cemetery, I think you can even go inside the cross ,coz I’ve seen a pic of it in the internet . then ruins church, they have the soda water swimming pool, with entrance, its taste like soda only without sugar, from the bottom of the pool you can see the spring coming out of it, then we had our lunch at sto nino cold spring with entrance, pero libre yung driver n conductor ng multi-cab, you can buy foods here mura lang masarap pa, medyo matagal lang ang waiting kasi they serve it hot, sobrang lamig din ng water, may mga salbabida for rent, kasi malalim din sya, then to katibawasan falls, of course may entrance pero mura lang 25 ata for adults, grabe lamig din ng water, then we stop by to vjandep bakery to buy pastel kaya lang naubusan n kami, even coron- coron na masarap ang lechong manok eh sarado ng Sunday, there are no foods kasi sa ardent hot spring , kailangan may baon ka talaga if you are going to have your dinner here, before nasa taas yung pinaka-mainit nilang spring but they’ve divert it sa baba, it will relax your body, sa taas lukewarm na lang sya, it’s a nice place. Enjoy your stay at camiguin, don’t forget to fully charge your digicam’s battery.

  • Was in Camiguin recently. A lovely place! If you need a multicab to pick you up from the port when you arrive and/or bring you to the port when you leave, or bring you around the island, you may get in touch with Chris at 09215637788. A really nice and honest guy. He can even help you find cheap but nice accommodations!

Thanks choyy. Will be in Camiguin this weekend til Tuesday. Mga cowboy talaga kami; til now wala kaming idea where we'll be staying. :D Will give Chris a call.
  • In CDO, you may get in touch with Joel 09179406428 for your transpo needs. Pwede na rin siyang guide. Have a safe and happy trip!!!

Camiguin was a blast! There was so much to do and so many places to see. We loved Ardent Hot Springs, went there twice.

choyy, thanks for recommending Chris. He was amazed when I told him I got his number from the net. I promised him I'd send him referrals so if any of you PExers are going to Camiguin, get Chris as your multicab driver. Nice guy and not a reckless driver. :D

Oh, if there's one thing I should warn you about, it's the aggressive porters! They start grabbing your stuff even before you tell them to or even if you don't need them (who needs a porter if you have a backpack, right?) The porters at the Agora station in CDO are worse though. One pulled my trolley around 2 meters, loaded it in a cab and complained when we gave him P20. The taxi driver said he was expecting P50. Grrr. Asa pa siya.

Katibawasan Falls - For some weird reason, I didn't find swimming here appealing. Water's cold and isn't too deep (you won't get submerged if you're more than 5 feet). There're a few tables here so you can bring your food and have a picnic. Entrance fee is P15.

    543890896_645da1ff68.jpg

Sto. Nino Cold Springs - Good place to have lunch. There are food establishments here where you can have your food cooked. Entrance fee is P15, table rent is P50.

    543990215_27065749e2.jpg

Soda Swimming Pool - I think this is a new attraction. Most drivers don't include this in the tour so you have to request it. Not worth going to if Sto. Nino Cold Springs is already in your itinerary. Entrance fee is P15.

Sunken Cemetery - No gravestones here. They were buried ages ago when the volcano errupted. The cross was erected as a memorial in the early 90s ata. Boatride is P10 per person.

One of the Stations of the Cross in the Old Mountain ["Jesus Heals the Offlicted (sic)"]. There are 15 stations so it takes around 1.5 hours to climb and see them all. Not for the physically unfit. I only reached station 11. Wear comfy shoes if you plan to see all stations.

View from the Old Mountain. The white speck on the upper right side of the pic is the Sunken Cemetery.

White Island - Must be visited very early in the morning, around 5AM. It gets really hot so swimming beyond 8AM not advisable. Huts for rent for P25. Food also available, mostly fish. Boat rent to island is P400.

    543977309_b577c0defb.jpg

Ferry from CDO to Camiguin. One hour ride. Fare is P117 if I remember correctly.

The aggressive porters waiting to grab your belongings. LOL

  • Hay naku, it's a must that you go to Camiguin. Di kayo magsisi. Pure nature fun to the maximum level. Mura pati gastusin don. I went there last summer. For more travel tips, message me turuan ko kayo.

Maganda talaga ang Camiguin. Problem lang is how the tourist spots were developed and maintained. i thought katibawasan falls just had too much concrete around the area. they should have designed something that blends better with the natural surroundings.
  • My friends and I are going to Camiguin and Cagayan de Oro this September.
  • we're planning to go to bohol on oct 13. from bohol meron ba way papunta ng camiguin? ferry? how much? hope someone could help....para sulit na yung bakasyon...thanks!
  • From Bohol boat trip from Tagbilaran to CDO. Then take a bus sa Agora bus terminal to Balingoan. Ferry to Camiguin.

I'm not sure kung meron pa bang plane trip from Cebu to Camiguin. If meron pa that can be an option.
