Illegal Commemorative License Plates

Panod ko lang sa IMBESTIGADOR sa Channel 7 kanina, andami palang bawal na commemorative license plates na nakaklat, eh bakit naman kase binebenta yun, kawawa naman yun mga inosenteng motorists na bumili nun na huhulihin. E ang dapat managot dun ay yung particular organization na nagissue at nagbenta nun.

AFAIK, the last two official commemorative plates are the Gloria and the LTO plates. Both these plates are already expired this month, so technically, lahat ng mga commemorative plates na kumakalat are all illegal.

The new Vanity plates(those that are put at the back of the car) are the only official 'vanity' plates, AFAIK.

Question lang.

Illegal ba ang commemorative plates kapag isa lang ang nakadikit? Let's say, may isa kang regular plate tapos may nakadikit na commemorative plate sa kabila.

I never understood the whole point of special plates kasi.

^ Isang piraso lang naman talaga ang commemorative plate, hindi yun pares na ini-issue.

I found the from the LTO website that says:

"Authorization of commemorative plates will no longer be granted upon implementation of the vanity plates program. However, existing commemorative plates shall be allowed to mature its validity period with no further extension."

So existing commemorative plates that have been legally issued and are yet to expire are not illegal at all.

i heard just this morning na 3 lang ang valid na comm plates. the UP medicine, congregation (?) of st. paul and i forgot the other one. theres a new one, yung comm plate for the SEA games, and i think its still available. the TMG plates are not valid na talaga.

i think eto na lang valid....SEA Games, UP College of Medicine, Congregation of Saint Paul (SPC) and the Feminist Movement of the Philippines commemorative plates

i don't think so. advantage lang nasa harapan ang comm plate on top of your regular plate, so di agad mapapansin kung coding ka or hindi.

pero sabi ng mga nagbebenta yong sea games exempted from coding..pero wala naman document or news report saying as such. so take it with a grain of salt ika nga...

I've risked going out on a coding day a few times with my commemorative plate(the now expired Gloria plate). I survived the day without having to donate.

But of course, I only risked it for very important reasons.
