Congratulations to Dondon Hontiveros for winning his first PBA title as a pro. He really deserved to have one. Goodluck and more power. Hehehe! Congrats din sa SMB team. Sunod-sunod na ulit to.. *pexadik*

    Dondon first played for Tanduay in the PBA. Later he came to SMB (in a trade involving Freddie Abuda) but this was after San Miguel's 2001 All Filipino.
    Dondon didn't have much time to play with his new teammates because he was taken in for the Busan Asiad.

    Naalala ko pa ung palitan nila ni Compton sa scoring nung Game 5 ng MBA National Championship sa Cebu nung 1999. Double or triple overtime yata un before the Metrostars win 145-139 (kung di ako nagkakamali) basta ganda ng game ni Dondon nun.

    Ngaun ko rin narealize na first title niya sa PBA at sa pro ranks, deserving din talaga.

    Kahit wala sa Mythical 5 ang importante may championship title na sya. Di hamak naman na pinakamatimbang ang maging champion kaysa maging member ng Mythical 5, kung sa individual awards syempre MVP at ROY.

    at least he came close to winning his first Finals MVP.. if it we're for the winning shots of Ildefonso, they thought of giving it to Dondon... eigher way, champion pa rin nmn eh... hehehe... congrats to Don2 and to the whole SMB team.. yahoooooo... :cheers:

    Dondon tried out for the national team when he was still in the amateurs. He did not make it to the team because it was only a "mock try out" since there was already a team composed mainly of Manilan basketeers, or they would only choose athletes from Luzon. If you're from da prabins (Visayas & Mindanao), sorry ka nalang, no matter how good you are . In other words: "luto na."

    Disclaimer: I only heard this from a friend.

    Now he can be absorbed in the RP team anytime without lifting a finger. Overstatement ba to. :D
