Gad, there are so many stuff around touted as natural remedies, and these statements aren't even backed by any scientific study. No food has any magic potion which will magically rid your body of disease, especially (oh, geez) cornflakes and honey. This e-mail is hogwash. While it's good to eat healthy food, it's better to consult a physician when you're ill, and supplement your treatment with eating the right food, than trying to self-treat a breast cancer with, say, wheat.
  • Chill Doc Ira.. I don't think this email was meant to suggest that we don't consult a physician when we're ill. I think it was meant more to suggest where people suffering from most of these ailments could have derived more of the vitamins, minerals and other substances that could help prevent such conditions.

Kung baga these would supposedly make you less at risk...I guess the title was a bit misleading... :(...curious though, when articles in health or fitness magazines tote
certain foods to be cancer-fighting or heart-friendly or whatever else, should we believe them or not?

Food with high fiber and high in antioxidants like vitamins E&C may help in preventing cancer. Food with omega-3 fatty acid like fish may help lower blood lipids.
