    Well, the main purpose of the said box is of course, to eliminate illegal connections. Also, you might watch a DVD-quality reception once you have the digital box.

    How's your cable now? If you'll still experience "Searching for Signal" error code, please try to double check the connection at the back of the digital box, the RCA and cable input. Turn off the box, remove the smart card. Turn the box on, and insert the smart card. Wait for about 30 seconds. You should automatically be directed to the SkyCable screen.

    If you're still experiencing the same, just call the Customer service hotline, 631-0000, you'll be scheduled for service within 24-48 hours.

    is the cabling of platinum totally separate from the gold/silver cabling? so pag mag-upgrade ako from gold to platinum, maglalatag ng new totally independent cables from the existing ones?

    It actually depends. It requires 750MHZ plant in order for Platinum service be provisioned.

    A new line will be used if you are connected to a lower frequency plant and cannot find the nearest 750MHZ plant for it to be drop swinged.


    But if you are already connected to a 750MHZ plant, there's no need to put a new line. A digital box will be installed, and the Platinum channels will be activated.


    And also, there are only few areas where Platinum service is provisioned.

    Lopez-led SkyCable to air GMA-7’s QTV channel

    GMA Network, Inc. (GMA-7) signed a deal with Lopez-owned SkyCable ending the almost seven years of disagreement over the ownership of Channel 27.

    The latest agreement said GMA’s newest channel Quality Television (QTV) 11 will now be seen on SkyCable and its unit Home Cable Channel 24 starting July 12.

    According to a media statement, the deal was signed by GMA Netwok representative Manuel P. Quiogue and Virginia S. Jose for Zoe Broadcasting Network and Carlo Katigbak for Central CATV which oversees SkyCable and Home Cable.

    This came after GMA said in February that it wanted SkyCable and Home Cable to finally turn over Channel 27 because of persistent signal interference with GMA’s ZoeTV, which is broadcast over Channel 11.

    GMA had been negotiating for the turnover since 1999 but had been unable to strike a deal with SkyCable.

    Initially, SkyCable had rejected GMA’s claim in March noting that giving up Channel 27 in favor of ZoeTV would result in duplicate broadcast of GMA programs.

    But the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered last month SkyCable to yield its Channel 27 slot to GMA’s QTV 11, prompting it to re-assign its ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) to anotherslot.

    The same decision had denied Zoe’s request to transfer its VHF TV 11 to another channel and continue to carry QTV-11 at the channel in which it is broadcasting. -- Maricel E. Estavillo

  • oh, i hope madami taung content sa cable...tau ang may pinakamahal na cable sa asya...(i heard that some time in 2004, i guess at channel newsasia)...dapat talaga ibaba ang presyo ng cable...kaya bumababa ang mga bilang ng subscribers eh (estimated 960,000+) out of 18 million households...(and 8 million TV households)...ang konti pa ng content...ever heard of 200 channels sa isang cable provider? ndi pa kasama ang HDTV format ng bawat channel! wala bang sariling channels ang scripps (owner of food network, hgtv, well, most of the lifestyle network's content), news corporation (such as fox news and fox sports)...senxa walang kwenta ang cable namin...CAMANAVA...argh! i hate our provider...
  • bakit ayaw pag-isahin ang operations ng Beyond Cable Holdings (owner ng Sky, Sun at Home) sa Metro Manila/Rizal, CAMANAVA/Bulacan at Taguig para uniform ang operations at ndi na iba-iba ang gagawing promotions?

    well, may tanong lang pala ako.. Pano po ba talaga mag-upgrade from Silver to Gold? Tumawag kami sa hotline number nyo at ang sabi nung sumagot eh susulat pa daw dun sa Sky para magrequest ng upgrade. As in snail mail?! Tapos sabi pupunta daw para kabitan. Ba't ganun? Hindi ba pwede tumawag na lang at magrequest through phone. Napakatagal naman yata na proseso yung ganung mail pa.

    Isa pa nga pala about dun sa website ng Sky. Sana wag na lang kayo maglagay ng email address for support kung wala naman pala magrereply. Naka 3-4 emails na yata ako wala pa rin. Naghintay lang ako sa wala...

Once you've sent the said letter of request, make a confirmation if we have received it or not, okay? About our email address, it's [email protected]. You'll get an email (answer) from us once we get yours. :)



    Just make sure you guys will call the Customer Service hotline, 631-0000 after you send something either fax or email, so that we can process the request immediately.

    Johnston in fairness to PLDT, when we complained about a sudden disconnection of our telephone line, mas madali pa nilang nareceive ang complains ko via email (i got replies the next 12 hours) kaysa sa telephone. unlike sa sky, mahirap na tumawag sa phone [although faster by just a few mins against pldt], d pa nagrereply sa email.

    and please lang, sana naman kung may repairs or interruption, may prior notice sa mga areas na maaapektuhan. ano pa silbi ng channel 26?

    pero in fairness, nawala ang complain ko na pagsisingit nyo ng mga skycable commercial sa opening credits ng programs. kaso lang, sa closing credits nyo naman nilagay. halimbawa, sa closing credit ng Card Captor Sakura, e ipapakita pa ung mangyayari next episode, sa halip na preview ng next episode makikita ko, aba puro commercial about illegal cable :lol: baka pedeng SCROLLING ADS na lang kung talagang gusto nyong mag-advertise while the program or tvshow is ongoing, tapos ung talagang advertisement e isingit nyo na lang tuwing commercial breaks.

    no pun intended, just a subscriber sending my concerns Johnston.

    bluethehero >> Actually, we have advisories (chargen) aired over certain channels once we experienced service problems. We also upload advisories on our trunkline so that once a subscriber calls, he/she'll be informed.

    About our advertisement on cable theft, both of us will benefit from this.

    about dun sa cable theft ads, I agree with bluethehero. Kung meron man nun sana dun sa commercials na lang isingit. Napansin kong madalas ito sa Animax. Ba't sa Myx parang hindi ko to nakikita?

    panay singit nga ng mga infomercials bakit di na lang gumawa ng extra channel ang sky na dedicated sa mga infomercials tutal nagbabayad naman ang advertisers. nakagawa nga kayo ng walang kwentang tv chat forum na sa sky lang.
