Tell us about your alma mater hymn!

A good way to understand each school's unique identity is through the alma mater hym.
Tell us about your school's alma mater hymn? Who composed it? When do you normally sing the hymn?

The Bedan Hymn
Written by Sen. Raul Roco & Benildus Maramba, OSB
Herald the Bedans coming
May their fellowship never cease
Molded by bold, undaunted men
Of pray'r, work and peace
Through the carefree days of our childhood
And the visions of our youth
You gave us the wisdom of Benedict's soul
Faith in God and love of the truth
When we encounter trials and hardships
We shall give you honor and fame
For nothing but this, show our loyalty clear
To our Alma Mater's name
Bring out the challenges, we'll win them all
And fear neither fire nor blood
Bedans will answer the Clarion's call
For San Beda, our country, and God!
Alma Mater Song
(English Version)
Pure Mater, Glorious Letran!
As the sun is your glory forever,
And the Laurels give aroma to your air
As the jasmin breathes off its fragrance.
Proud of you and your history
Our souls from today shall swear;
To conquer for your honor new glory
And never to forget you, Letran
In the magical Philippines Paradise
You were torch of light and knowledge
And through your vulnerable destiny
You shall be the rosy color of hope,
For you were able, according to your example,
To mould so many illustrious men
Who resemble stars in heaven
As they shine on a tranquil evenings!

Alma Mater Hymn
Hail, Hail
Alma Mater,
Hail to De La Salle!
We'll hold your banner high and bright,
A shield of green and white,
We'll fight to keep your glory bright,
And never shall we fail,
Hail to thee our Alma Mater!
Hail! Hail! Hail!
Alma Mater a song from the builders
You embody the goal to attain
Hear a song from the heart of the wielders
Of compass and transit and chain
Refrain:
Alma Mater your name and your story
We raise our glad voices to thee
We will strive for the fame and the glory
Of the M and I and T
We will follow the light of the new prints
We will trace on the footoaths of arts
For our land we the makers of blueprints
Will struggle to fulfill our part
Repeat Refrain
When away from your doors have been parted
Thy sons in the flight of the years
Still conscious and firm and whole hearted
We will hail thee with songs and with cheers
Repeat Refrain
itong hymn ay naging sikat nung 3rd term(Jan 2005-March2005) ...laging kinakanta pag may rally...actually nun lang mas naging aware ang mga students about the hymn....ang pinaka memorable line ay yung last line ng refrain....
Benilde also has a hymn but they usually sing the Lasalle alma mater hymn. But I forgot. :bonkself: :glee:
Alma Mater Song
Coro
Alma Mater, Letran esplendente !
Como el sol es tu gloria, sin fin,
Y perfuman los lauros tu ambiente
Como exhala su aroma el jasmin
Orgullosos de ti y de tu historia
Nuestras almas desde hoy juraran;
Conquistar por tu honor nuevas glorias
Y jamas olvidarte, Letran !
Solo
En el magico eden Filipino
Fuiste antorcha de luz y saber;
Y atraves de su augusto destino
De esperanza seras rosicler;
Pues lograste segun tu modelo
Tantos hombres ilustres formar;
Que semejan estrellas del cielo
En la noche serena al brillar

Fulfillment of our yearning
For Christian higher learning,
To thee our eyes are turning PCU;
Thy Blue and Silver Banner
In Firm unchanging manner
Is steadied by unshaken loyalty.
Refrain:
Thine is love of men in service tendered,
Thine is love of God in worship rendered,
Thine is wholesome growth in Christ engendered,
Alma Mater, PCU.

hello, troll police, another troll on the loose.... hahaha
CSB, Mapua and Letran's hymn are limited only to the love of school.
Interesting.
Really...well the studenst themselves must learn the hymn with or without the support of the admin. That's school spirit!
I heard from my Bedan friends (in college) that they were taught and encouraged to sing the alma mater hymn by upperclassmen themselves and not by the school admin.
How about the other schools, how did you learn about your alma mater hymn?
