Head lice is caused by infestation of a small parasite called Pediculus capitis. Pubic lice (or crabs) are caused by the parasite Pthirus pubis. They usually live in the pubic hair, but can sometimes be found in axillary or armpit hair, facial hair, or even eyelashes. They are acquired mainly through direct genital/sexual contact, so their presence may be associated with other sexually-transmitted diseases (actually, it's also a type of STD). Pubic lice may also be acquired through more innocent means, such as by sharing a bed with an infested person, or getting in contact with an infested person's sheets or towels. Lice cannot jump from person to person, nor can they be transmitted to or by animals.

Uunahan ko na ang magsasabi ng...

    1. Why don't you consult a doctor? Well, nakakahiya magpatingin sa doctor.

    2. Why don't you search it sa GOOGLE?

Based on the information i gathered lahat daw ng lalaki ay dadaan sa ganitong sakit para bang bulutong-tubig.

I been afflicted by "jock itch" for more than a year. You know, kahit ayaw mong katihin gagawin at gagawin mo kasi makati... .

I tried first applying lotion baka kasi dry skin lang kaso no effect. Then gamit ko sulphur soap sa pagligo, i applied betadine or agua oxinada for anti-infection kasi nagkasugat-sugat na nga. Bumili ko ng anti-fungal medicine. But i really don't know how it got cured. Kasi di ba more than one year, tagal din ko naghirap (pero minsan masarap... ).

Now i want to know sa mga lalaki kung paano ninyo nagamot ito firsthand, ung sariling diskarte baka meron dyan may secret medicine.

HELP NAMAN DYAN GUYS, baka kumati ulit! :ayaw:

try using DIPROGENTA CREAM. it's an anti-bacterial ointment. i use it for all my skin irritation including pimples. i swear it's very effective kahit sa pimples coz it cures my pimples in 2-3days. it costs P380 (na yata) per 30gm tube. no need for prescription
  • raw meat or karne? i guess that movie was referring to pubic lice (Pthirius pubis) or crabs.
  • try mo rin tea tree oil
  • Jock Itch usually occurs when a relief is made to a small itch in rashes by making "kamot" and this rash spreads out giving you a bigger itch. Rashes appear when we wear thick undies and pants. Combine with sweat and a tight fitted underwear, skin gets irritated and produces the rashes.

A solution is to wear loose pants. Avoid thick undies, you can use boxer briefs or boxer shorts (preferred), para iwasan magasgas ang singit which is another cause of itchiness.

When itching occurs, don't use sulfur soap for it can spread the itching. Use a cleaning soap such as Cetaphil and wash the area as frequent as possible. Apply Nizoral cream, 3 x a day. If the area is covered with hair, shave it so that the applied cream will bond to the skin and not on the hairs.

Skin problems take time to heal. Continue applying the cream. It will eventually heal.
  • obet, bro.kakatawa.i had exactly the same sentiments regarding jock itch.hiya rin ako pumunta sa doc, nasarapan din pag kinakamot.at f**king s**t ang kati pag gabi.namaster ko na rin magkamot ng singit in public discreetly.hahaha.buti na lang nawala.umitim din singit ko dahil dun, pero pumuputi na uli. one crappy experience :) tama si puresoul, one small rash lang yun, e ang kati.ka,ot dito kamot duon, before i knew it, twas spreading na. moral: see a derma asap :)

to confirm if you indeed have crabs, check your undies if it has spots of blood stains. kung meron nga, then you have crabs, look carefully each strand of your pube or usually at the base of your p&nis where your pube hair is thicker. better shave your pubes kung meron nga and apply anti-lice medication
  • People, I'd like to ask about pubic lice. My thai partner has it. I'm afraid na mahawa sa kanya. What do i NEED to do?

  • Please wait for the reply of the physicians. This might help:

(From the national library of medicine)
    Prevention

Avoid sexual or intimate contact with infected people. If sexually active, use safe sex behaviors to avoid getting lice.

Good personal hygiene is always recommended. If possible, avoid trying on bathing suits while shopping. However, if you must, be sure to wear your underwear while trying them on. This may prevent transmission.

    Treatment

Pubic lice are best treated with a prescription wash such as Elimite or Kwell:

Thoroughly work the shampoo into the pubic hair and surrounding area for at least 5 minutes.

    Rinse well.

Comb the pubic hair with a fine-tooth comb to remove eggs (nits). Applying vinegar to pubic hair before combing may help loosen nits, but the hair should be dry when applying the shampoo.
A single treatment is all that is usually needed. If another treatment is recommended, it should be done 4 days to 1 week later.

Over-the-counter medications for the treatment of lice include Rid and Nix.

At the time of treatment, wash all clothing and linens in hot water. Items that cannot be washed may be sprayed with a medicated spray or sealed (suffocated) in plastic bags and not used for 10 - 14 days. It is imperative for all intimate contacts to receive treatment at the same time.

People with pubic lice should be evaluated for other sexually-transmitted disease at the time of diagnosis.
  • ^Good afternoon. Please read this:
Here are some rules with regard to posting in the medical forum. Please take a few minutes in going through them.

    1. Please don't use text lingo or slang terms when you post. My fellow doctors here would agree that it's very hard to understand them. Post your replies clearly, that way we won't misunderstand and give you the wrong advice.
  • smilewarrior have covered the treatment aspect quite well.
with regards to shaving - that would not be advisable (except in extreme cases), the hairs grow back, this time coarser, thus might lead to further scratching and abrasion and more aggravation.

and one more thing, how does this look like? parang ganon din ba sa kuto sa buhok?
  • hi doc ira, pano makucure yung pubic lice madali lang ba itong macure? makakatulong ba ang shaving? It means meron ng STD ang taong may pubic lice? what kind of doctor dapat pumunta ang taong infected nito? Pls Help thanks..
  • Crab lice can be treated with Kwell shampoo (reformulated), which contains permethrin. Work up a lather at the pubic area, making sure that the lather covers the entire area. Leave the lather on for 20 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly. Repeat the treatment in 7-10 days because nits are more resistant than the adult lice and can hatch in one week.

    Other important tips:
    * Shaving of the scalp or body hair eradicates lice; however, this is not cosmetically acceptable for most patients.

    * Wet combing or application of diluted vinegar or commercial preparations of 8% formic acid may help in the removal of nits or at least make the combing easier. Plastic or the sturdier metal nit combs may be used.

    * Treatment of the patient's environment is important.

o Fomites (clothes, towels, beddings, hats, children's stuffed animals) should be washed in hot water, machine-dried, ironed, or dry cleaned. Temperature exceeding 131°F (55°C) for more than 5 minutes kills eggs, nymphs, and mature lice.

o Combs are hair brushes should be discarded, soaked in very hot water (>131°F or 55°C), or treated with pediculicides.

The itching of the ***** you experience might be due to the lice infestation itself. After successful treatment, itching might still persist for 1-2 weeks. If it persists beyond this and no evidence of lice is found, I suggest you consult a dermatologist
