This got to be one of the funniest things i've read about SUVs.

No it can't! How could a vehicle with a lower ground clearance get out of a (2~3 feet deep) mud where an H2 with a substantially higher ground clearance (with bigger and wider off-road tyres) was stuck? Have you any idea how big and how high an H2 is? I know because there's an H2 parked in front of the office right now. It even dwarfed a Range Rover beside it.
"the H2 isn't really meant for off road driving."Are you being funny?

Again, how can a Wrangler with "lower ground clearance" get out of a 2~3 feet of mud where an H2 with a "higher ground clearance" (and bigger tyres) was stuck? The Wrangler, literally, would have floated at that depth and, apparently, with little or no traction out of its tyres.
Well, unless it's heavily modified with tractor tyres!:D0 -
Ground clearance is measured under the lowest point of the vehicle (usually the rear differential housing), not by the door sills (that is called the 'step-in height').
The H2 as with all off-road vehicle is not invincible. And off-road driving requires driver skill. And part of that skill is knowing the limits of your vehicle
The H2 was designed to bank on the popularity of the H1. Although it did have to pack some off-road ability to live up to its name. H2's do have a locking rear diff and electronic aids but this ain't no H1. This isn't even an LC80 or Patrol GQ when it comes to the rough stuff.
But being based on a GM Tahoe/Suburban truck platform, I'm not sure if the original intent of that platform was for heavy off-road use.0 -
Perhaps that's the problem, the one driving the H2 thought it's as invincible as the H1. Although, I still think the H2 with stock tyres, despite the rear differential sticking out on its rear wheels, has a higher ground clearance than a Wrangler. And a Wrangler stuck in the same predicament as the H2, will likewise be unable to get out of as well. Well, unless the Wrangler is heavily modified one.0

Nope. It was an H2 that was rescued by a Jeep when it got stuck on a tree stump.

Tsk tsk tsk...
Isn't it a habit of serious off-roaders to really get out of their vehicles first and check the depth of the water they're about to cross by foot?
Or am I mistaken?0
